3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Topic 1. Levels and perspectives in social research . Epistemologies , methodologies and technologies (theories , methods and techniques ) . 

 Topic 2. Participatory methodologies . Participatory Action Research (PAR ) .

 Topic 3. Participatory tools and techniques in research, planning and local development ( technological level). Feedback process and returning  information .

Topic 4. Local Development, Participatory Planning and Community Development Plans linked with Sustainable development goals number 11(Sustainable cities and communities).

 Topic 5. From PAR to Comprehensive Action Plan . Social Networks and Joint Action . Sociograms and social maps .

 Topic  6. Good participatory practices in local development ( Agenda 21 , participatory budgets , ... linked with Sustainable Development Goals number 1;  5, 10 and 16 (No poverty; Gender equality; Good health and well-being; Peace, justice and strong institutions). 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lecture activities by the teacher and students (theoretical presentations, presentation of work).

Practical activities in the classroom (text and video commentaries; group discussions and debates).

Practical activities outside the classroom (visits to community projects, fieldwork in neighbourhoods, meetings with associations and citizens' movements, attendance at seminars and conferences).

Tutoring (joint teacher-student follow-up, both individualised and in small groups).

Personal work (individual or team work, preparation of presentations, personal study).

Class attendance (in Spanish) is not mandatory.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Students will be required to write a research paper and explain it in a workshop. The mark system will be express with numerical marks (0-10)

Goal 1: End poverty in all its forms everywhere.

1.5 By 2030, build the resilience of the poor and people in vulnerable situations and reduce their exposure and vulnerability to climate-related hazards and other economic, social and environmental disasters.

1.b. Develop sound policy frameworks at national, regional and international levels, based on gender-sensitive pro-poor development strategies, to support accelerated investment in poverty eradication measures.

Goal 5: Achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls

5.1 End all forms of discrimination against all women and girls everywhere

5.2 Eliminate all forms of violence against all women and girls in the public and private spheres, including trafficking and sexual and other forms of exploitation

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
