It is important to recognize the growing relevance of the SDGs
promoted by the United Nations. These global goals aim to address
critical challenges, such as poverty, inequality, climate change
and sustainability, and are applicable in a wide variety of fields,
including finance.
The SDGs that can be linked to the Introduction to Finance
subject are described below.
SDG 4: Quality Education:
This SDG is especially relevant in the context of the
Introduction to Finance subject. Linking SDG 4 with this subject
not only reinforces the commitment to providing quality education,
but also highlights the importance of financial education in
training informed and responsible individuals in the field of
finance. This focus on quality education contributes to a better
future in which people are prepared to make informed financial
decisions and actively participate in society.
SDG 8: Decent Work and Economic Growth:
This objective focuses on the promotion of sustainable
economic growth and the creation of decent employment, fundamental
aspects of financial and business management. The subject prepares
students to understand how financial and investment decisions
affect economic growth, job creation and financial stability.
Projects and financial strategies are also evaluated from a
sustainable perspective, emphasizing the three dimensions, which is
essential for the promotion of equitable and lasting economic
development. This approach contributes to training future financial
professionals aware of their role in promoting responsible and
sustainable economic growth.
SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities:
SDG 10 is linked to the Introduction to Finance subject in
several ways. Not only is it important to emphasize the importance
of reducing economic and social inequalities, but this subject
prepares students to understand how finance can be a tool to
achieve a more equitable world. This approach contributes to
training future financial professionals aware of their role in
promoting a more just society and reducing economic and social
disparities. The topic of financial inclusion is worked on, as well
as the impact of Corporate Social Responsibility is reported.
SDG 12. Responsible Consumption and Production:
The integration of SDG 12 highlights the importance of
financially responsible production and consumption and how
financial decisions can influence sustainability. It prepares
students to consider these aspects in their future career and
enables them to make financial decisions that take into account not
only economic benefit, but also social and environmental impact.
This approach contributes to training future financial
professionals aware of their role in promoting responsible
financial and investment practices.
SDG 13: Climate Action:
It is essential to prepare students to consider the
environmental impact of their financial decisions. The subject
promotes awareness and the adoption of sustainable financial
practices in line with the sustainable development objectives, with
the assessment of investment projects focused on reducing the
carbon footprint and CO2 emissions. In addition, financial products
are analyzed, offered by entities and organizations, with more
beneficial conditions if they are for the financing of sustainable
projects. This perspective helps train future financial
professionals aware of their role in combating climate change and
promoting a more sustainable world.

If the classroom capacity is not enough, the teaching will be face-to face for 25-50% of the students depending on the capacity of the classroom, in the schedule assigned, and videoconference broadcast to the rest, with periodic rotation of students, as determined by the Center.

3. RESOURCES
To carry out the teaching and assessment activities mentioned above, it will be necessary to have the following resources:
a) Audiovisual retransmission system for theoretical and practical classes.
b) The students will need to have the computer and telecommunications means to be able to view the retransmitted classes, as well as solve the assessment tests and be able to record the corresponding videos.
