4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

-

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

A daily control of student attendance will be carried out by means of a signed register. There will be a final exam of the subject which will evaluate the learning acquired by the students. The annual calendar will include an exclusive date for the development of the student assessment test, both in its ordinary and extraordinary call. The assessment test/exam may be substituted by the teacher for another assessment activity/activities such as assignments or oral presentations. Note: In the case that no exam of theoretical-practical content is carried out, the weight of this evaluation will be added to that of the work requested of the students (S3).

The initiative and innovative contributions, the quality of the work in terms of content and form, and presentation will be taken into account. The ability to present and defend work in public (with special attention to the use of new technologies) and the bibliography used will also be assessed.

Health and Well-being

The primary objective of this module is to provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence health and well-being, with a particular focus on physical activity and its benefits. Students will learn to critically evaluate scientific literature related to health promotion and well-being and to develop evidence-based interventions to improve the quality of life for various population groups. Topics such as the prevention of chronic diseases, the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles, and the implementation of exercise programs tailored to different needs will be addressed. Additionally, the importance of mental health and its relationship with physical activity will be emphasized, providing students with tools to design comprehensive strategies that address both physical and mental well-being. Through case studies, data analysis, and research projects, students will be prepared to make significant contributions to the field of public health and well-being from an interdisciplinary perspective.

Quality Education

This module aims to explore and promote quality education in the field of physical activity and health sciences. Students will analyze pedagogical principles and best educational practices that foster effective and meaningful learning. Curriculum design, assessment, and the implementation of educational programs that integrate physical activity as a central component for the holistic development of students will be discussed. Additionally, educational policies and their impact on the quality of teaching and learning in diverse contexts will be examined. Future educators and researchers will be trained to use innovative teaching methods and advanced educational technologies to enhance the learning experience.
