Consolidated pedagogical models in Physical Education. Cooperative learning, comprehensive model of sports initiation, model of sports education, model of personal and social responsibility.
Emerging methodologies in Physical Education learning: gamification, game-based learning, flipped learning, project-based learning, learning for life, service learning, challenge-based learning).
Advanced elaboration of Didactic Units/Learning Situations and class sessions.
Attention to diversity in Physical Education. Specific measures and practical proposals for students with specific educational support needs.
Evaluation of the teaching and learning process in Physical Education. Initial or diagnostic evaluation, continuous and formative evaluation, final or summative evaluation, triadic evaluation (hetero-evaluation, co-evaluation and self-evaluation).
Assessment techniques and instruments: rubrics, portfolio, cognitive and observation sheets, assessment scales, web tools (mentimeter, kahoot!, quizizz, classDojo).
-
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
In order to pass the course, students must obtain a score equal to or higher than 5 points in the subject.
The section on attendance and participation will account for 20% of the mark for the course.
30% will go to individual and/or collective practical work proposals requested during the different class sessions.
The final 50% will be destined to the delivery of a final individual work based on the elaboration/defence of the basic structure of a Didactic Programme + 1 Didactic Unit/Learning Situation + outline of sessions that would compose it. In this proposal it will be necessary to add what has been studied during the classroom sessions of this subject.
In the official examinations in which students do not carry out continuous assessment, they may opt for a single test on the theoretical and practical contents of the subject.
The grade achieved will only be valid for the current academic year, and grades will not be maintained from one academic year to the next.

Health and Well-being
The primary objective of this module is to provide an in-depth understanding of the factors that influence health and well-being, with a particular focus on physical activity and its benefits. Students will learn to critically evaluate scientific literature related to health promotion and well-being and to develop evidence-based interventions to improve the quality of life for various population groups. Topics such as the prevention of chronic diseases, the promotion of active and healthy lifestyles, and the implementation of exercise programs tailored to different needs will be addressed. Additionally, the importance of mental health and its relationship with physical activity will be emphasized, providing students with tools to design comprehensive strategies that address both physical and mental well-being. Through case studies, data analysis, and research projects, students will be prepared to make significant contributions to the field of public health and well-being from an interdisciplinary perspective.
Quality Education
This module aims to explore and promote quality education in the field of physical activity and health sciences. Students will analyze pedagogical principles and best educational practices that foster effective and meaningful learning. Curriculum design, assessment, and the implementation of educational programs that integrate physical activity as a central component for the holistic development of students will be discussed. Additionally, educational policies and their impact on the quality of teaching and learning in diverse contexts will be examined. Future educators and researchers will be trained to use innovative teaching methods and advanced educational technologies to enhance the learning experience. Inclusion and equity in education will also be key topics, ensuring that all students, regardless of their backgrounds, have access to quality education that promotes health and well-being throughout their lives.
Reducing Inequalities
The purpose of this module is to analyze health inequalities and access to physical activity and to develop strategies to reduce these disparities. Students will investigate how socioeconomic, cultural, and geographical factors influence health equity and participation in physical activities. Community interventions and public policies aimed at improving access to health resources and exercise opportunities for marginalized populations will be explored. Additionally, the importance of participatory research and community collaboration in designing culturally sensitive and sustainable programs will be discussed. Students will learn to apply social justice-based approaches to address inequalities and promote an inclusive environment that supports the health and well-being of all individuals, especially those in vulnerable situations.
Partnerships for the Goals
This module focuses on the creation and management of strategic partnerships to achieve common goals in the field of physical activity and health. Students will explore the importance of interdisciplinary and multisectoral collaboration in developing and implementing effective public health programs. Case studies of successful partnerships between academic institutions, governments, non-governmental organizations, and the private sector will be examined. Students will learn to identify collaboration opportunities, negotiate and manage partnerships, and evaluate the impact of joint projects. Additionally, the role of global networks and international organizations in promoting health and well-being will be discussed. Through practical projects and simulations, students will develop skills to lead collaborative initiatives that address complex challenges and improve health at the community and global levels.
