- Medieval theater: Study of the period and origins of theatre. Mysteries and moralities. Reading and analysis of
- Elizabethan and Jacobean theatre. Study of the period, its playwrights and plays. Reading and analysis of Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare.
- Late Victorian theatre. Study of the period, its playwrights and plays. Reading and analysis of The Importance of Being Ernest by Oscar Wilde.
- Theatre of the 20th century: Introduction to the period, its playwrights and plays. Reading and analysis of An Inspector Calls by J. B. Priestley.

- There will be one final class essay which will provide 50% of the final grades. This essay will consist of: writing an essay (out of a choice of two), and commenting a number of excerpts from the plays read and discused in class. [Competences and Learning Outcomes: S1-B1/B2/B3/B4/B5/E11/E12/E21-R12/R13/R18]
- Students will also be required to present orally a topic in front of the class (10-15 minutes) (30% of the total grades). The topic of this presentation will have to be previously approved by the lecturer. [Competences and Learning Outcomes:S2-G3/G5/G8-R3/R8/R5]

ASSESSMENT
Regular (Ordinaria)
- There will be one final class essay which will provide 40% of the final grades. This essay will consist of the following: writing an essay (out of a choice of two), and commenting a number of excerpts from the plays read and discussed in class. ASSESSMENT
Regular (Ordinaria)
Should the teaching be transferred to an online format, all these assessment methods will be developed by means of email, GMeet, and the virtual platform Ilias, maintaining the same weight within the overall evaluation. The in-person exam (40%) will be replaced by a 'house-exam'.
Re-sit (Extraordinaria)
An exam, written and/or oral depending on the circumstances and infrastructure, will provide 100% of the grades.

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.
Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.
Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.
Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.
Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
