3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

THEORETICAL CONTENT

Lesson 1. Basic concepts and radiation effects.

Lesson 2. Imaging techniques. Nomenclature.

Lesson 3. Conventional radiology. Standard radiographic projections. Basic radiological semiology of different organs and organ systems.

Lesson 4. Computerized tomography (CT). Standard CT projections. Basic semiology of different organs and organ systems Lesson 5. Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI). Standard MRI projections. Basic semiology of different organs and organ systems.

Lesson 6. Nuclear medicine. Standard projections. Basic semiology of different organ and organ systems.

Lesson 7. Ultrasonography (US). Basic semiology of different organs and organ systems.

Lesson 1. Detection of anatomical structures in conventional radiology I. Individual and group presentation.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

THEORETICAL LESSONS. (3 ECTS). Traditional lectures in large groups. Conventional lectures with expository method, promoting discussion and active participation in the class. The student will acquire competencies 1.2, 2.1, 3.6 and 4.8.

PRACTICAL LESSONS. (3ECTS). Practical teaching in small groups. Practical exercises and activities. Works and reports based on the results obtained in practical lessons will be carried out by the students. The student will acquire competencies 1.2, 2.1, 3.6 and 4.8.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The qualification system will be regulated by the Royal Decree establishing the European Credit Transfer System and the higher learning qualifications system (1125/2003 of 5 September). Attendance to practical lectures is mandatory. The theoretical exam score will be the 60% of the final grade. The practical exam score will be the 40% of the total grade. The practical exam consists of oral exhibitions of the results obtained in the practical classes. The theoretical exam consists of a written test with multiple choice questions and identification of anatomical structures by means of the different imaging techniques.

Teaching methodology. Description

Theoretical lessons (30 sessions)

All the teaching activities -including evaluation- will be in-person, as long as the sanitary and social conditions allow it.

30 sessions (Conventional lectures with expository method, 1 hour per sessions), performed in the class and online for the rest of the students. Periodic rotation of the students.

Practical lessons (10 sessions) A2-322.

 

All the teaching activities -including evaluation- will be in-person, as long as the sanitary and social conditions allow it.

10 sessions of practical lessons (in-person, 3 hours per sesión). if the sanitary and social condirions allow it. If necessary,  periodic rotations with reduced groups  will be used.

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above.
