3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

ASSESS, DIAGNOSE, PLAN, EXECUTE and EVALUATE with nursing methodology, according to the
state of development of the scientific knowledge of each Practicum and with the levels of quality and
safety established in the applicable legal and deontological norms:
a. The needs of the population served (adults, women in the different stages of the reproductive cycle
and in the climacteric and elderly).
b. The sexual health needs of men and women.
c. Guaranteeing the right to body privacy, body image, secrecy and confidentiality.
d. Without discrimination with the respect that any human being deserves.
e. Identifying the structure, function and physiology of the human body and the changes inherent in the
health/disease process and the changes inherent in the aging process.
f. Taking into account the pathophysiological processes and their manifestations and the risk factors that
determine the states of health and disease in the different stages of the life cycle and especially aging.
g.Establishing an empathetic and respectful relationship with the patient and family, according to the
person's situation, health problem and stage of development.
h. Developing appropriate attitudes, in the exercise of the practice, related to communication and
interpersonal relationships.
i. Using strategies and skills that allow effective communication with patients, families and social groups,
as well as the expression of their concerns and interests.
j. Efficient utilization of medications.
k. The therapeutic, adverse and toxic effects of medications

l.Pharmacological and/or food interactions during the implementation of the different treatments applied during the health/disease process.

 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

CLINICAL PLACEMENT: 235 hours
Description: The clinical placement are carried out in Health, Sociosanitary and Sociopsychiatric Centers with Collaboration Agreement between the Institution and the University of Jaen. A total of 235 hours distributed in 6 weeks. The assistance will be carried out in the hours of shifts of the assigned units, being 7 hours in morning shift, 7 hours in afternoon shift and 10 hours in night shift, or different shifts that can be presented in the clinical units, adapted to the schedules of the clinical tutors. It will be a necessary requirement to cary out al least 28 calendar days distributed in clinical shifts during the internship period.

Purpose:
The student is integrated in the nursing team of the different units, medical-surgical, obstetrics,gynecology, socio-health centers and geriatrics, performs nursing procedures with ethical andresponsible attitude, as an integrated member of the health team, and participates in the different healthprograms, showing a receptive and open attitude that allows establishing a correct communication thatfacilitates learning.
Students integrate the knowledge acquired in the classroom with
professionalcompetencies in clinical practice. The students are
guided and supervised by the different clinical tutors,assistance
coordinators, as well as the professors of the course.

AUTONOMOUS STUDY AND WORK OF STUDENT: 65 non face-to-face hours

Description:
1) Activities (guided and unguided) proposed by the teacher
through which, individually and in depth,specific aspects of the
subject are studied, allowing the student to advance in the
acquisition of certain knowledge andprocedures of the subject.

Purpose:
To favor in the student the ability to self-regulate their learning, planning it, designing it,evaluating it and adapting it to their special conditions and interests.
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al
Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic
support.

MENTORING: INDIVIDUAL AND GROUPS: presential/on-line
Description:A way of organizing the teaching and learning
processes based on direct interaction betweenthe student and the
professor.
Purpose:
To guide the student's autonomous work.
To deepen in the essential elements of learning.
To guide the student's academic formation.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The tasks to be assessed in Practicum VI will be:

Assessment by the tutor:

Face-to-face control by means of signatures. Assessment by direct observation, by means of a record of interventions (NIC taxonomy). 15%
- Assessment of attitude during practical training. 15%

Evaluation by the subject coordinator:

The completion of work, cases and exercises (40%) will be assessed by means of an on-site examination which may be oral or written (depending on the circumstances, which will be assessed and determined by the teacher coordinating the subject, depending on whether the test is general, of incidents or other assumptions).

Evaluation of the Clinical Practice Coordinator:

This will be assessed by means of an Objective Structured Assessment of Nursing Care, a test where students demonstrate their competencies under a variety of simulated or real conditions (30%).

It will be necessary to obtain a 5 out of 10 in each section independently in order to average with the rest of the assessment criteria and to have completed the 235 hours of practice. This will be a prerequisite for passing the course.

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

Given the situation caused by COVID-19, it may be necessary to reduce the number of weeks by increasing the hours of the shifts of presence at the destination centre, so that the competences are acquired, which will be communicated in due time to the students by the coordinating teachers.
On the other hand, if the situation so requires and by virtue of the Order of 17 June, which approves measures for the establishment of the teaching activity in the Andalusian public health system, as a result of the situation and evolution of the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19) published in the BOJA of 19 June 2020, in point five, paragraph 3 establishes the situations for the development of health and non-health practices in the Andalusian Public Health System and specifically indicates that the areas of COVID-19 will be identified in the health centres of the APHS in order to exclude them from the practical classroom training itineraries. Therefore, and once identified, the Faculty of Health Sciences in coordination with the Vice-Deans of Degrees and those responsible for the Practicums can proceed to relocate the affected students to other units or centres, both before the start of the Practicum and when it is already underway.
ASSESSMENT SYSTEM IN THE MULTIMODAL SCENARIO
The same system as in the face-to-face situation is maintained.

 

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

In the event that the pandemic forces a virtual scenario situation, the Faculty of Health Sciences, together with those responsible for the Rectoral team of the University of Jaen and the those responsible for the Rectoral team of the University of Jaén and the Health Authorities will decide how to carry them out.
EVALUATION SYSTEM IN THE NON-CLASSROOM SETTING
Depending on the way in which the practicum is carried out, the evaluation system will depend on the way in which the practicum is carried out, trying to maintain as much as possible the same system as in the face-to-face scenario.

 

DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE (on line exams)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
