The course is structured around large group activities (three hours per week the first five weeks, two hours per week the following weeks) and small group practical activities (one hour per week) and through both activities the students will achieve the expected learning outcomes.

The development of the course will take place in different spaces.

In the classroom, with a didactic methodology based on three techniques for classroom sessions:

Expository master classes, theoretical/practical classes, participatory classes with exposition of topics by the teacher, professors and/or invited specialists and students.
Practical: in small groups, one hour per week per group and in which exercises are proposed that have to do with the implementation of those seen in the theory and in the contents of the subject. Documents and treatment of information / communication tools, as well as information technology tools, will be their specific content among others.

In computer classrooms for a greater practical integration of the knowledge of information, library and / or newspaper library. The purpose will be to actively learn the basic structure of database processing, computer applications, search, analysis and understanding of information in the process of analysis, diagnosis and evaluation.

As for the relation of the activities to be carried out in the development of the subject will be:

Activity 1: Active exposition of theoretical topics in the classroom.
Activity 2: Classroom sessions and/or workshops in practice groups.
Activity 3: Group tutorials requested by students.

Activity 4: Elaboration of practical work.
Activity 5: Elaboration of a notebook to record notes for research or diagnosis.

Activity 6: Application of the research methodology through the elaboration of an analysis of an intervention project or research project linked to this area.
    Activity 7: Final exam

For the follow-up and development of the course, the enrolled students must attend the classes in the established schedule and register, in due time and form, in the virtual teaching platform from where all the basic information related to the course will be provided: presentations of the expositions, self-evaluation questions, constitution of the practical groups and work teams, proposals and delivery of works, etc. It is the student's responsibility to access this training platform to monitor the course. Students will also be responsible for keeping their profile data updated as a person enrolled in the course.

The information provided on the platform about the contents is basic for the development of the course. It will be the student's responsibility to elaborate from this information, the presentations of the teacher or invited professionals, the practical activities and the bibliography recommended in this guide, the final content of the topics.

The deadlines for supervision and delivery of work are non-extendable and failure to meet them will have repercussions on the corresponding grade.

Regarding the general behavior in the spaces where the classroom training activities are carried out, an appropriate attitude of respect for the group and the work done by the teaching staff will be maintained, maintaining the required respect, not consuming drinks, food or any other substance, with the exception of exceptions authorized by the teaching staff.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The grading system will be governed by the provisions of RD 1125/2003 of September 5, 2003, which establishes the European credit system and the grading system for official university degrees.

The purpose of the evaluation system is to verify that the enrolled students have acquired the learning results foreseen in the course. Thus, the selection of the evaluation methods will be made taking as a criterion the relevant elements for the realization of the corresponding competences, contents and achievements associated to them through a continuous evaluation system that includes on the one hand a final objective test of questions (assessing the learning results INV DI01, INV DI02, INV DI03, INV DI04, INV DI6, INV DI8, INV DI07, INV DI10) and on the other hand the realization of activities and periodical practical work (assessing the learning results INV DI03, INV DI05, INV DI06, INV DI08, INV DI09).  In this evaluation the students must demonstrate that:

- Is able to apply the different models of research, diagnosis and evaluation in social work throughout its different phases (INV DI01).

- Understand the relationship between research, diagnosis, evaluation and social work practice (INV DI02).

- Is able to use the methods and techniques for the evaluation of needs, capacities, opportunities and risks of the users, groups and communities, incorporating in the process the participation of interested persons or groups. (INV DI03)

- Is able to analyze and systematize the information provided by daily work as a basis for reviewing and improving professional strategies (INV DI0).

- Knows how to apply knowledge about good practices in social work. (INV DI05)

- Knows how to manage information from a variety of sources. (INV DI06)

- Is able to apply assessment models and methods, including the factors underlying the selection and verification of relevant information, the nature of professional judgement and the processes of risk assessment. (INV DI07)

- Is able to interpret data on social needs and problems, and on social work outcomes, from a non-androcentric and non-ethnocentric perspective.(INV DI08)

- Is able to evaluate the differences of point of view in the collection of information and the reliability and importance of the information collected (INV DI09).

- Has developed skills to design documentary supports and document the processes of social intervention, among them those of elaborating, presenting and sharing social histories and reports keeping them complete, faithful, accessible and updated as a guarantee in decision making and professional assessments. (INV DI10)

The evaluation of students will be based on differentiated items and throughout the course. It will combine various methods to be selected from the following:

- Written test: essay exams, objective or semi-objective tests, problem solving, short answer tests. To perform the part in which data are required for the practical assumptions in the test, the book of the subject may be used (see basic bibliography). It will score 65% of the final grade of the course.

- Attendance to the classroom sessions and activities performed: Development of analysis and verbal and/or written reports on topics presented in class, exposition of the same through active participation of the students in the course. Correct use of professional language.   It will score 10% of the final grade of the course.

- Practical sessions: Attendance and passing of practical work, individually or in groups, on the contents of the syllabus (seminar) and on the performance of practical activities corresponding to specific competences. Carrying out field work and reports related to them, linked to the work methodology set out in the subject and in the socio-cultural context in which the student's learning takes place. Elaboration of hermeneutic documentary works related to the theoretical and practical content of the course. It will score 25% of the final grade of the course.

Regarding the extraordinary convocations, the following should be taken into account:

For the evaluation of the extraordinary call II (June-July) none of the grades obtained in the ordinary call will be kept. The objective written tests, practical activities and activities or questions that value the item of attendance, which the faculty dictates to qualify for such qualifications and that will be equivalent in difficulty and those made during the course, must be performed, all in accordance with the rules of evaluation of the University of Jaén.

In no ordinary or extraordinary call will be "admitted" the grades obtained in the different parts of the subject in previous courses.

In order to pass the subject, each item must be passed, theory, practice and attendance (it is passed by obtaining the average value of the applied scale) and the final result must be higher or equal to 5. That is, the subject will be passed as long as at least five points are obtained in the theory, five in the practices and five in the attendance. Likewise, each section and/or each activity that are part of these, must be passed with at least 5 points each.

The evaluation of the practical activities and papers may not be the result of copying or plagiarism, for which they will be subjected to an analysis through the anti-plagiarism resources available to the University of Jaén. Any suspicion or evidence of plagiarism will imply the suspension of the activity or work.

Likewise, in the evaluation of the subject, any suspicion that the student is not complying with the rules of the exam, as well as using any method that exceeds the allowed in the instructions administered in the evaluation, will result in expulsion from the classroom and the corresponding grade of Fail.

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

MULTIMODAL SCENARIO. AS THIS IS A COMPULSORY SUBJECT, THE GROUPS FOR THEORY ARE APPROXIMATELY 70 STUDENTS, WHICH PREVENTS THE STUDENTS FROM BEING FULLY PRESENT IN THE CLASSROOM, SO THE TEACHING IS TAUGHT IN A MULTIMODAL SCENARIO, THAT IS, ALTERNATING DIFFERENT TEACHING MODALITIES THAT CONCLUDE WITH THE TRAINING AND ACQUISITION OF COMPETENCES BY THE STUDENTS.
