4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Expository classes will be used for theoretical topics. Debate will be generated between the students and the teacher on issues related to product design and development. During the academic year, a series of practices will be carried out in the design laboratory, related to the syllabus of the subject. These practices will have as objective the two-dimensional and three-dimensional representation of creative industrial designs in CAD environments. A series of both individual and group exercises will be developed on aspects of the subject, with the possibility of exposition by the students of the work developed in them.

Practical contents:

Practice 1: Innovation in industrial design. Influencing factors. Plans module in CAD environment

Practice 2: Plans of components in CAD.

Practice 3: Plans of components in CAD. Get the challenge

Practice 4: Drawing of assemblies in CAD. Carrying out surveys

Practice 5: Management of CAD files for the manufacture of prototypes. Elicitation of requirements

Practice 6: Obtaining technical specifications. Generation of the design concept. Patent Search

Practice 7: Validation of the design

Practice 8: Detailed design of the product in a CAD environment. Design concept selection. Review of components in terms of manufacturing and design of the assembly line for the product

Practice 9: Detailed design of the product in a CAD environment. Ecodesign. ergonomic review. Prototyping. Validation with clients

Practice 10: Presentation of designs and audiovisual activities carried out.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

It will be necessary to pass a score of 5 points in the final exam (with a weighting of 40% of the final grade) and the positive completion of individual and group exercises and scheduled practices. The works and/or practices will be carried out in accordance with the criteria established by the professors and will have to be delivered within the deadlines established by them. The weighting of the programmed works will be 50% of the final grade. Class attendance and participation in the participation activities proposed by the teacher will be graded with 10% of the final grade. The note of the personal work will be maintained during the calls of the academic year.

 - CT1: issues associated fundamentally with the development of mechatronic systems oriented towards responsible consumption, environmental sustainability and the circular economy will be evaluated. This will be carried out by participating in face-to-face activities and carrying out practical or theoretical activities.

- CT2: issues related to the circular economy and equal opportunities in the field of application of mechatronics engineering to our socio-economic context will be evaluated. Specifically, ideas and concepts related to the development of mechatronic products that favor this type of economy are prioritised.

- CT3: The different existing job opportunities within their future specialization will be discussed with the students, and within the scope of the discipline that develops the subject.

- CT4: The collaborative and team work developed by the students will be evaluated, weighting it positively, and with the corresponding percentage within the activity/type of evaluation that is framed.

- CT5: Within each of the evaluation systems presented by the subject, the capacity for reasoning and critical analysis shown by the students in the different tests/exercises/tasks or even in their own participation in class will be evaluated.

The theoretical exam evaluates the skills: CB6, CG1MKTR, E01MMKTR

- The practices that will be carried out during laboratory hours evaluate the competences: CB7, CG1MKTR, E02MMKTR - Carrying out works, practical cases or exercises evaluate the competences: CB9, CB10, CG3MKTR, E01MMKTR, E02MMKTR - On the other hand, the positive evaluation of the student will imply that they have achieved the learning outcomes: RB6, RE1MMKTR, RG1MMKTR, RG2MKTR.
