4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

METHODOLOGY IN A CLASSROOM SETTING:

Theoretical presentations will be made in the classes and problems related to the topics presented will be solved.
Simulation/lab practices of electric drives and power electronics will be carried out.
Technical visits to industrial facilities will be carried out
Work will be carried out in groups of students and will be presented in class or by videotutorials.
METHODOLOGY IN A MIXED OR ONLINE-ONLY SCENARIO (CLASSROOM AND ONLINE).

Theoretical presentations will be made in the face-to-face classes, if allowed or in online format and problems related to the topics presented will be solved.
Simulation/lab practices of electric drives and power electronics will be performed. Face-to-face or by videoconference.
Technical visits to industrial facilities will be carried out. Virtual visits can be substituted in any of the scenarios.
Work will be carried out in groups of students and will be presented in class or by videotutorials. They can be face-to-face, online or in mixed format,
In all the activities and methodology indicated, the competences will be taken into account:

CB2R That students know how to apply their knowledge to their work or vocation in a professional manner and possess the competencies that are usually demonstrated through the elaboration and defense of arguments and problem solving within their area of study.

CB3R That students have the ability to gather and interpret relevant data (usually within their area of study) to make judgments that include reflection on relevant social, scientific or ethical issues.

CB4R Students are able to convey information, ideas, problems and solutions to both specialized and non-specialized audiences.

CB5R That students have developed those learning skills necessary to undertake further studies with a high degree of autonomy.

CEL1 Knowledge of machine control and electric drives and their applications. Applied knowledge of power electronics.

CT2 Ability to manage information, handling and application of technical specifications and legislation necessary for engineering practice.

CT4 Ability to apply new technologies including information and communication technologies.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The syllabus consists of two parts:

Part I: Power Electronics (Topics 1 to 5).

Part II: Electrical Drives (Topics 6 to 14)

Part I, represents 33% of the Final Grade of the subject.

Part II, represents 67% of the Final Grade of the course.

Both parts contain:

Theoretical-Practical Exam, written, which represents 75% of the final grade.
Attendance in person or virtual and participation in activities: 5%.
Practical/Laboratory Work/Simulation, which represents 20% of the final grade.
In the Examination Test with theoretical contents and problems the competences CEL1, CT2 and CT4 and the learning outcomes 6 and 7 are evaluated.

In the class work and delivery of practical reports the competences CEL1, CT2 and CT4 and the learning outcomes 6 and 7 are evaluated.

In the Attendance to practical classes, in person or virtually, the competences CEL1, CT2 and CT4 and the learning outcomes 6 and 7 are evaluated.

EVALUATION SYSTEM:

It will be similar to the evaluation system for a classroom scenario, indicated in the teacher's guide. If required, and the scenario is mixed, the evaluation will be done by multimodal and mixed means with the indicated resources.

Theoretical-practical examination, written, which represents 70% of the final qualification.
Presential or virtual assistance and laboratory-simulation practices, which account for 15% of the final grade.
Accomplishment / exhibition of works, academic activities directed, which represent 15% of the final grade.
In the Examination Test with theoretical contents and problems, the CEL1, CT2 and CT4 competences and the learning results 6 and 7 are evaluated.

In the Classroom Work and the delivery of practice reports, the competencies CEL1, CT2 and CT4 and the learning results 6 and 7 are evaluated.

In the Attendance at practical classes, either face-to-face or virtual, the competences CEL1, CT2 and CT4 and the learning outcomes 6 and 7 are assessed.

 SYSTEM OF EVALUATION

Attendance and participation in the internship, virtually.
This assistance will be online and consists of the delivery of all the practices, correctly written and made the videos, on the date indicated in the platform ILIAS, the subject.
(Practices and works were made before the State of Alarm, these practices will be evaluated in the total calculation of the evaluation and with the weight indicated in this document).
Weight in the evaluation: Maximum 35%

Delivery of Work-Project Reports.
A paper will be delivered, which will be scored according to its quality, content and delivery on the date indicated in the virtual platform ILIAS.
Some works were made before the State of Alarm, these works will be evaluated with the weight indicated in this document.
Weight in the evaluation: Maximum 15%

Theory Test
A Theoretical Examination will be conducted, which will have 2 parts:
o An oral exam part, which the teacher will give individually to each student, in which a video conference will be held (if the video conference is not possible, a phone call or other resources may be made)*
o A written exam, which will be sent to the ILIAS platform, on the day and time indicated and which must be taken within the maximum time allowed. This exam will be either TEST or with short questions.
It will be sent to the ILIAS platform, scanned or by means of a photo, or it will be solved by means of the GoogleForms or TestILIAS application.
The Videoconference option will be enabled to supervise the writing of the exams, through GoogleMeet *.
(Those theoretical exams, partial, carried out before the Alarm Status, will be evaluated with the weight of the evaluation indicated in this document).

Weight in the evaluation: 15%
Problem solving test.
The Troubleshooting Test will be done through a Written Test in which you will solve one or more proposed problems.
The teacher will send the exam through the ILIAS platform or through institutional mail to each student, on the day and time indicated.
Once the student has finished the exam, which is done by hand, he/she will scan it and send it to the DV platform or by email to the teacher.
The exam must be sent before the indicated time, otherwise it cannot be evaluated.
The Videoconference option will be enabled to supervise the writing of the exams.

(Those problem exams, partial, performed before the Alarm State, will be evaluated with the weight of the evaluation indicated in this document).

DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE (on line exams)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in.
