4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lectures

These sessions are organized into two hours per week during the course. The methodology used is the flipped classroom, so the student must have previously reviewed the contents of each class, which can be found in PLATEA, in order to be able to answer the initial questionnaire and participate in the debates, questions, research and exercises that will be proposed during the class.

The contents of the examples and problems will be focused on the CC17, CT5, CB2, CB3, CB4 and CB5 skills, using the knowledge acquired in the theory classes.

In the learning management system will be available the entire material theory and exercises . This material must be revised before each session of theory with the help of the course booklist.

Practice sessions

Practice sessions will be two hours long, and will be held weekly during the semester. The practice script for each session will be available beforehand, so that the students can work on the exercises on on their own before the session. The problems will be focused on the CC17, CT5.

During the practice session, the professor will give a short lecture about the main concepts in the script, and will solve questions from the students. Then, the students will work with the computers to solve the practice exercises from the script under the teacher guidance. The script solutions will be submited on the virtual platform.

Group seminars

There will be several virtual group seminars at the end of the semester. The students will have to solve practical exercises by working in groups of three persons, and applying the theoretical concepts explained in normal lectures. The problems will be focused on the CC17, CT5.

The professor will help groups by solving any question they ask. At the end of the seminar, the exercises will be submited on the virtual platform. The seminar dates will be published in the official schedule at the beginning of the semester.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Under the provisions of art. 13 of the Regulation of Academic Regime and Evaluation of the Students of the University of Jaén, the evaluation of the course is global.

To pass the course, the student must obtain a score of 5.0 after adding the grades of the following sections:

  • S1. 5% obtained in the class participation using a reward system, based on "Unibadges: learning goals gamification" project, getting 1-50 tickets for the final mark.
  • S2. 50 % of the grade obtained in the theory part. A minimum of 5.0 out of 10 is required.
  • S3. 10 % of the grade obtained from the exercises delivery and virtual seminars participation. (No minimum required in this part).
  • S4. 35 % of the grade obtained in the practical part. (No minimum required in this part)

The final marks of the Attendance and participation, Practice and Excercises and Virtual seminars blocks are valid for the entire year.

Under the provisions of art. 18.4 of the Regulation of Academic Regime and Evaluation of the Students of the University of Jaén, S2 block is mandatory to pass the course and It is necessary to submit 50% of the practices to be considered as completed.

8. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

1) TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES

The activities that cannot be carried out in person will be developed in semi-attendance format at the percentage of attendance, time and classroom assigned by the EPSJ, using videoconferencing, provided that the capacity and infrastructure of the space assigned for teaching the subject allows it.

2) EVALUATION SYSTEM

The evaluation system and instruments will be the same as for the classroom mode, as long as the capacity and infrastructure of the space assigned for the evaluations of the subject allow it. Otherwise, presential tests will be replaced by similar tests developed telematically.

3) RESOURCES

Video conference systems that are available in the spaces that are enabled for teaching will be used, as well as the University's teaching platform. Activities that cannot be carried out presentially will be carried out by means of synchronous and/or asynchronous activities carried out through the virtual teaching platform.

It is expressly forbidden to record by any means the presential or non presential synchronous activities without the explicit permission of the teacher.

9. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

1) TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES

The activities that cannot be carried out presentially will be carried out through synchronous and/or asynchronous activities carried out through the virtual teaching platform and the mechanisms that the University allows or enables.

2) EVALUATION SYSTEM

The evaluation system and instruments will be the same as for the presential mode, replacing the presential tests with similar tests developed through the use of the online teaching platform or others that the University allows or enables.

3) RESOURCES

The activities that cannot be carried out presentially will becarried out by means of synchronous and/or asynchronous activities carried out through the virtual teaching platform.

In any case, it is expressly forbidden to record by any means the presential or non presential synchronous activities without the explicit permission of the teacher.

DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE (on line exams)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
