3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Introduction: The strategic direction of the company

Globalization and the strategic decision of internationalization: globalization of the economy and the company, factors that promote globalization, relationship between globalization and business strategy, business implications.

Concept of business internationalization, theories, approaches and models that explain the internationalization of the company.

Approaches to the international company: typology of international companies, parts that integrate the business strategy and selection of foreign markets.

The forms of entry into the development of the international strategy: the choice of the mode of entry, typology of modes of entry, factors to be considered in the choice of the mode of entry and political risk.

The process of implementation of the international strategy: organization (centralization/decentralization), organizational design of the international company and cultural problems in the internationalization of the company.

Business cooperation: concept and arguments that justify cooperation agreements, typology of strategic alliances and key aspects and use of cooperation agreements in the development of international strategy.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

LECTURES IN LARGE GROUP: - INTRODUCTORY ACTIVITIES. - MASTER SESSION. - PRESENTATION OF THEORY AND GENERAL EXAMPLES. 

LECTURES IN PRACTICE GROUPS: - PRACTICAL ACTIVITIES. - DEBATES. - RESOLUTION OF PRACTICAL CASES; SIMULATIO. -PRESENTATIONS AND EXHIBITIONS.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The subject is face-to-face, students should know that it is essential to attend theory and practice lectures, as well as they have to develop the practice exercises during the teaching semester.  The only way for a student to access the practical contents, statements and their solution is by attending the lectures of the subject. Thus, throughout the semester, there will be exercises and practical activities proposed and explained in the lectures. Only students who attend the lectures can participate in them. In this way, without having attended the lecture you will not be able to participate in these exercises and practical activities.  There will be a final test, exam, of the theoretical concepts of the subject (5 points maximum) and a final test, exam, of the practical contents of the subject (5 points maximum) will be carried out. If in the final test of the theoretical concepts, the student does not reach a minimum of 2 points, the grade obtained will not be added to that which corresponds to the grade of the final test of the practical contents.  

With active participation in class, debates and forums, the E35, G21, G7 and G14 competitions will be attended.  

With the final test of the theoretical concepts, the E12B, G23, G28 and G3 competences will be evaluated.  

With the final test of the practical contents, the competences E11, G21, G23, G26, G7 and G3 will be evaluated.

Teaching methodology: Description

Expository theoretical lectures, in a large group, on the contents of the program (45 hours).

45 hours of explanatory lectures, carried out by videoconference through the use of various platforms, both synchronously and asynchronously. It is considered essential to monitor the subject by virtual teaching platforms.

Practical classes, in small groups, to perform problems / exercises (15 hours).

15 hours of lectures in small groups (25% students) to perform problems and / or exercises, divided into 15 sessions of one hour each, carried out in person, with periodic rotation of students.

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
