3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Unit 1. Conventional treatment of urban and industrial wastewaters.

Unit 2. Treatments sewage sludge.

Unit 3. Clean technologies applied to domestic, industrial and agricultural wastes.

Unit 4. Bioremediation of organic and inorganic contaminants

Unit 5. Recovery of heavy metals in polluted water using microorganisms

Unit 6. Soil-plant and plant-microorganism interactions: environmental and agrobiological applications 

Unit 7. Biomonitoring: use of biosensors and biomarkers in environmental monitoring programs and ecotoxicological evaluation

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

In the development of the subject four activities are differentiated:
* Teaching of theoretical classes

* Carrying out practical classes (seminars and laboratory sections)

* Other academically directed activities (individual and group tutorials)

* Continuous and global evaluation.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

*A control of the student's attendance in theoretical and practical classes will be carried out.

* Laboratory practices and technical visits will be mandatory.

* During the development of the laboratory practices and the tutoring system, follow-up control will be carried out.

  • Oral and written tests of theoretical and practical knowledge.
  • Assessment of the exercises proposed to the students during the development of the subject.

*The evaluation criteria are the same in both calls, Ordinary and Extraordinary.

8. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

 It is should be considered that in this subject the group of students is small. In this sense, the changes which affect the instrument of Methodology and  Formative Activities are indicated in the following table:

EVALUATION SYSTEM

The changes presented affect the Assessment Instrument: Theoretical Exam, which is replaced by other activities, as indicated in the following table:

The final examen will be perfomed in presential form. 

If necessary, the Non-Face-to-Face Exam will be held on the date and time established in the academic calendar for the extraordinary call II.

 This non-face-to-face exam will be carried out as indicated below:

  • On the one hand, the virtual teaching platform will be used to carry out the evaluation test.
  • And on the other hand, to verify the identity of the students and take the test, the students will be required to connect to a Meet Google session, leaving the microphone and camera open.

 

RESOURCES

 Classes will be taught using the GSuite Meet application proposed by the University of Jaen for the development of teaching activity.

 Students must have adequate equipment and Internet connection

DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE (on line exams)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
