These contents connect with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs). Topics related to Sections I and II, Analysis Techniques and Clinical Analytical Chemistry, will reinforce SDG 3 (Health and well-being), through Targets 3.4. Reduction of non-communicable diseases and mental health, and 3.9. Reduction of deaths from chemical contamination and pollution. Topics related to Section III, Environmental Analytical Chemistry, will reinforce SDG 6 (Clean water and sanitation, based on Target 6.3. Improve water quality. Reduce pollution and wastewater), 11 (Sustainable cities and communities, through Target 11.6. Reduction of the environmental impact in cities), 14 (Life underwater, based on Target 14.1. Prevention and reduction of marine pollution) and 15 (Life and terrestrial ecosystems, through Target 15.9. Integration of plans sensitive to the environment). Likewise, a critical spirit and an increase in skills to obtain employment, essential for achieving SDG 4 (Education and quality), will be encouraged.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

1.- The lectures will be taught primarily as exposing lectures.

2.-  The student will attend a mandatory practice sessions that will be conducted the analysis of chemical compounds in different biological and environmental matrices.

3. The students will develop Academically Supervised Activities: (a)  Seminars / Presentations: each student will select a topic of clinical or environmental interest which will be finally exposed in class to other colleagues; (b) E xercises, Problems and Test.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The theoretical examination will be written and will be heldon the date set by the Faculty of Experimental Sciences.

The practical sessions will be mandatory. The knowledge gained will be evaluated from the lab notebook.

To overcome the academically supervised activities will be taken into account the work to be developed.
