Practical classes:
1.- Microbiological analysis of the air
2.- Microbiological analysis of surfaces
3.- Microbiological analysis of water
4.- Microbiological analysis of the soil
5.- Microbiological analysis of food
The contents of this subject connect with the following SDGs and Goals:
SDG-3: HEALTH AND WELL-BEING
- Goal 3.2: Eliminate infant mortality.
- Goal 3.3: End communicable diseases.
SDG-6: CLEAN WATER AND SANITATION
- Goal 6.3: Improve water quality. Reduce pollution and wastewater.
SDG-12: RESPONSIBLE CONSUMPTION AND PRODUCTION
-Goal 12.3: Reduction of food waste.
The master classes explain to the students the contents of the subject and guide them in the bibliography (recommended basic) required to improve their knowledge. The practical classes are held in the Microbiology laboratory to carry out appropriate practical activities.
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
The evaluation is based on: -Examination of theoretical and practical concepts: 75%. All
the skills mentioned in methodologies will be evaluated. -Attendance to all practical sessions, active participation in
the laboratory and delivery of the practical report: 15%. For
this, the competencies will be evaluated: CT2, CT5, CT8, CT9, CT10, CG11, CG12, CE44, CE45 and CE49. -Seminar: 10%. It is based on the teacher's observation and
the CT1, CT2, CT3, CT4, CT6 and CT7 skills will be
assessed.

1. TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES
Training activities |
Format (classroom/online)* |
Teaching methodology description |
14 Theoretical class sessions |
In classroom according to health circunstances
|
Development of 14 sessions of participatory master classes of one hour each, conducted in classroom or by videoconference if sanitary conditions require it.
|
8 Practical sessions of Advanced Microbiology in the laboratory A2-222B.
|
In classroom according to health circunstances |
Development of 8 practical sessions, of two hours duration each, applying rotation in small groups of 50% if sanitary conditions require it. In this case, retransmission of practical classes will be done to the rest of the group (if possible) or complete the training with asynchronous training activities.
|
Tutorials |
In person or Online |
The tutorials will be carried out online (synchronous and asynchronous) or in person.
|
2. EVALUATION SYSTEM
A continuous assessment will be carried out throughout the course through the delivery of activities, both theoretical and practical, by the students through the Virtual Teaching Platform of the University of Jaen, which will represent 50% of the final grade. There will also be a synchronous final test of theoretical and practical concepts, on the date established by the Faculty of Experimental Sciences for each of the official calls, which will represent 50% of the final grade.
