3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

The contents of this subject will take into account topics related to the personal, public, professional and educational spheres. The topics to be covered will be the following:

Personal identification
Housing, home and environment
Daily life
Leisure and free time
Travel
Relationships with others
Health and personal care
Education
Shopping
Food and drink
Public services
Places
Foreign language
Weather conditions

Three didactic units subdivided into three sections each (1: lexical semantic, and communicative aspects; 2: grammar; 3: phonetics and pronunciation).

(a) Introductions. Food. Descriptions (b) Present Simple and Continuous, action and non-action verbs, past tenses, future forms. (c)Phonetics I. 2. (a) Telling stories. Transport & travel. Saying numbers. (b) Perfect tenses, present perf & past simple, present perfect continuous, comparatives & superlatives, phrasal verbs. (c) Phonetics II. 3. (a) Manners, judgement, renting a flat, informal letters. (b)Modals: ability, deduction, obligation, possibility. (c) Phonetics III.

 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Classes will consist of short presentations of the communicative and grammatical aspects to be covered, as well as oral and written activities, and individual or small group assignments to be completed by students on a regular basis.

Active participation is essential as well as regular attendance to sessions.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The evaluation will consist of a combinatin of different aspects: regular attendance and active participation, passing a theoretical and practical exam (Competences CB4, CE20, CE22, C24, CE25, CG1, CG6, CG7, CG8, CT10, CT4, CT9) (Learning outcomes R239, R240, R241, R242, R243, R244, R245) and oral presentations in public or presentation of written work(s) (Competences CB4, CE20, CE22, C24, CE25, CG1, CG6, CG7, CG8, CT10, CT4, CT9) (Learning outcomes R239, R240, R241, R242, R243, R244, R245). The ability to communicate correctly and successfully in English will be assessed, acquiring specific competences of level B1.1 within the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages.

In the second call, the ability to express oneself in English will be assessed by means of a test.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
