4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Its main characteristics are as follows:

  1. The topics are introduced by means of a text that serves as a reflection for the class group through a colloquium in which the students' initial knowledge is revealed.
  2. The topic is presented by digitalised slides. Together with these, the bibliographical sources necessary for their preparation will be indicated.
  3. Proposal of practical activities of various kinds (enquiry, exhibition, reflection, research, etc.) based on the documents handed out.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

PATIE-ERASMUS students will have to contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester to configure and adapt their training process.

Evaluation of Theoretical-Practical contents (60%):

The theoretical-practical contents of the subject will be assessed by means of a knowledge test (exam on the official calendar date) of the contents of the subject.

The assessment test will consist of multiple choice questions (three alternatives), where only one answer will be correct. The correction formula for correct answers based on chance will be applied.

Grade = Correct - (Errors / K-1)

The exam will be worth 60% of the total value of the subject.

Evaluation of the Practicals-Seminars and Work (30%):

The completion of the final practical work will have a value of up to 30% of the subject.

Attendance, participation and correct completion of the Practical-Seminars will be worth up to 10 % of the total value of the subject.

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

Following the indications of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of the UJA, the "Degrees whose number of students and classrooms assigned for teaching does not allow to develop the teaching activity of theory and practice in a face-to-face and simultaneous way to the whole group, weeks of semi-attendance and weeks of non-attendance will be alternated. During the semi-attendance weeks, theory and/or practical classes may be given, with the necessary group divisions so that the number of students in the classroom does not exceed, in any case, the capacity allowed by health measures. In the weeks when there is no classroom attendance, all teaching would be given by virtual means, either synchronously or asynchronously".

Given that the number of students enrolled in this subject exceeds 75-80 students, it will not be possible to develop a multimodal or mixed teaching scenario, neither in the theoretical part nor in the practical part of the subject, as the safety distance would not be assured in any case (theory classrooms) and much less in the computer classrooms (practical classrooms of this subject).

A mixed or multimodal scenario would only be possible if one of the 4 classrooms of the University of Jaén that allow teaching for groups of 44 people (E1, E2, E3 and E4) were assigned for theory, respecting the safety distance of at least 1.5 metres, and in no case in the computer classrooms.

Therefore, a multimodal or mixed teaching scenario would not be possible in this subject of this degree.

Only in the event that this degree course is assigned one of the classrooms that allow preserving the safety distance for a group of more than 40 students, only in that case, multimodal or mixed teaching would be possible. To this end, the organisation would be as follows (a model is proposed for the first two weeks, which would be repeated in odd and even weeks, respectively):

Week 1.

Blended learning subgroup 1 (40 students), also Practicum 1 group (Practicum 1).

Blended learning subgroup 2 (40 students), also blended learning in group of Practicals 2.

Week 2

Blended learning subgroup 2 (40 students), also group Internship 2 (Internship 2).

Non face-to-face subgroup 1 (40 students), also non-face-to-face in practical group 1.

This sequence will be alternated in the following weeks. Always respecting the criteria established by the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, and as long as the safety distance between students is ensured.

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

Brief description of the changes in the contents and competences.

The contents and basic and general competences in the teaching guides will not suffer any alterations, since all of them will be developed through the online classes, the practical tasks developed and during the group work that the students carry out, as well as with the autonomous work by the students.

Changes in teaching methodology

No methodological change will be necessary in the teaching (neither in theory nor in practice), in the development of the theoretical sessions or in the practical sessions.

The tutorials are carried out virtually through various virtual tools recommended by the institution on the PLATEA platform and Google Meet in order to respond to the situation caused by COVID-19.

Changes in training activities

The activities contemplated in the original teaching guide were:

A01 - Lectures in large groups

MA01 - Master classes, introductory activities, lectures, etc.

A02 - Classes in practical groups

MA02 - Practical activities, seminars, debates, laboratories, exercise resolution, exhibitions, etc.

There will be no substantial modification in the expository classes, only an adaptation of the resource used for its development (video-conference through the Google Meet resource for the UJA), video-conference instead of the classroom.

In the practicals, we have continued with the usual procedure, group work, resolution of exercises and presentations. Only the practical classes in the computer classroom have been affected.

The virtual teaching platform PLATEA and Google Meet will be used for synchronous activities and e-mail, forums and virtual tutorials, both individual and group, for asynchronous activities.

Only the type of exam will be modified, changing to online electronic format through an exam of theoretical and practical objective questions, elaborated and through the resources of the virtual teaching platform PLATEA of the UJA or the virtual teaching google resources only for the community of the RIUJA network (Google forms [google forms]).

Timing

The established times, distribution and sequencing of the contents of the Guide are maintained in the development of the subject.

Only, some dates have been modified for the realization of some practices since it has not been possible to carry them out in person.

In the same way, the exhibition of practical work in groups can be done, but not in person but virtually online.

All the dates and deadlines established for the delivery of the practical work, as well as for the official exams of the subject, are maintained.

Resources and infrastructures

For the correct development of the subject, it has been necessary to use various resources not contemplated in the original guide of the subject, most of them technological, since the use of technology has been encouraged (video-tutorials, large group teaching with video-conference with Google Meet, video-conference tutorials, documentation in electronic support, etc.).

In addition, all the other teaching resources that were contemplated in the subject and that this teacher usually uses on a regular basis (use of the PLATEA Platform, Forum of the subject on the platform, Slides, Practice Groups, Directed Academic Activities sent via the platform, links, etc.) have also been used.

It has also been necessary to inform students of the usefulness of books, electronic resources and journals in electronic format available to them in the UJA Library (BUJA), as well as access to the Databases subscribed by the UJA. In addition, these aspects mentioned above are contents specific to this subject, and given the special circumstances, more attention and space will be given to them.
