4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The methodology and activities of the subject are oriented to the achievement of the learning results linked to the competencies of the subject and the corresponding learning module. The subject is structured around large group activities, practical activities in small groups and autonomous work of students under tutoring. Through these activities students will achieve the expected learning results.

The development of the theoretical content of the subject will be carried out through:

  • Exhibition activities of the teaching staff, guest speakers and students (theoretical presentations, presentation of works, papers and communications)
  • Tutoring (joint follow-up of teachers-students, both individualized and in small groups)
  • Personal work (individual or team, preparation of presentations, personal study)
  • Participation in debates and analysis of cases in person and / or in  Online forums

The practical application of the theoretical contents will be carried out through the realization of the following individual and group activities:

  • Debate or comment of readings
  • Use of computer classrooms for the analysis of citizen participation channels
  • Visualization and debate of documentaries on the inclusive and active participation of citizens
  • Presentation of the project of SCA practices of a community
  • Thematic evaluation questionnaires with gamification methodology through digital tools (Kahoot, AhaSlides, Gimkit, etc.)

In order to monitoring and development of the subject the students enrolled must attend the classes at the established schedule and enroll, in a timely manner, in the virtual teaching platform from where all the basic information related to the subject will be provided: presentations of the exhibitions, establishment of practice groups and work teams, proposals and delivery of works, etc. It is the responsibility of the students to access this training platform for the monitoring of the subject. You will also be responsible for keeping your profile data up to date as a person enrolled in the subject, both on the virtual campus and on the training platform. The information provided in the platform about the contents is the basic one for the development of the subject. It will be the responsibility of the students to draw up from this, the exhibitions of the teacher or invited professionals, the practical activities and the recommended bibliography in this guide, the final content of the topics. The deadlines for supervision and delivery of work are unromant and non-compliance will have an impact on the relevant qualification. With regard to the general behaviour in the spaces in which the face-to-face training activities take place, an adequate attitude of respect for the group and the work carried out by the teachers will be maintained, and the teaching can not be allowed to be exempted from the exceptions authorized by the teachers- to consume drinks, food or any other substance that is not part of the training session. Audio or video recordings and photographs may not be made, unless authorized in certain cases. Mobile devices may not be used; unless authorized by the teachers for use related to the content that is treated in the corresponding session in the subject. All this within the current regulations.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The qualification system shall be governed by the provisions of RD 1125/2003 of 5 September establishing the European credit system and the qualification system in official university qualifications. The purpose of the evaluation system is to verify that the enrolled students have acquired the learning results provided for in the subject. Thus, academic performance will be evaluated by a continuous evaluation system comprising on the one hand a final objective test of questions and on the other hand the realization of regular activities and practical work. To do this, you will have different methods that will be selected from the following. This selection will be made on the criterion of the elements relevant for the acquisition of the corresponding competencies, contents and achievements associated with them and taking into account the criteria of the document criteria for the design of the Degree Titles in Social Education.

The student evaluation will combine several methods:

  • Written test: essay exams, objective or semi-target tests, problem solving, short response tests, reports and class journals, etc.
  • Rubrics of individual and group practical homework
  • Oral exhibitions in class: individual or group, on the contents of the syllary (seminar) and on carrying out practical activities corresponding to specific competencies.
  • Rubrics
  • Peer assessment of homework and practical team-group work
  • Active participation of students in the activities scheduled in the subject.
  • Participation in face-to-face and online discussion forums
  • Assisting individual and group tutoring.

To pass the subject, it will be necessary to approve both the theoretical and the practical part. Both in the examinations and in the papers presented, misspellings will be assessed negatively.  Likewise, in the assessment of the subject, any suspicion that the student is in breach of the regulations of conducting examination, as well as that he/she is using any method that exceeds that permitted in the instructions administered in the evaluation, will imply expulsion from the classroom and the corresponding qualification of suspense.

The theoretical test will have a 50% valuation of the grade. Assistance and active participation 20%; 30% practical tasks; tasks in computer and participation in forums 10%.   The theoretical examination is mandatory for all students and it will be necessary to pass the theoretical exam so that the note of the other evaluation activities can be added to it. Qualifications of practical activities and class participation will be kept during the regular calls of the academic year.

Multimodal or mixed scenario Groups with number of students above the limited capacity in the classroom.

We made the proposal taking into account a multimodal or mixed scenario with groups of students below the limited capacity of the classroom and having been approved by the Faculty of Social Education that the class is divided into two groups and these alternate (distance of 1.5 meters) both in theory and in practice.
