Goal 5: To achieve gender equality and empower all women and girls.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The methodology includes: magistral and interactive theoretical lectures, practical and training sessions and seminars, and correction and supervision of activities and homework (e.g., self-formative activity).

Lectures with large groups will be mainly theoretical; nonetheless, students will be encouraged to be active and participate in the development of them.

Sessions with small groups will consist of practicing the previously taught theoretical topics such as for instance the Psychological Interview.

Within the correction and supervision, it is included the self-formative activity. The correction and supervision of this activity is likely to be done during the two last weeks of the semester. The theoretical and practical contents and sessions will have finished for that time and the corresponding hours will be directed to tutorial attention (tutorships) for this activity.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The different activities will be evaluated in different manners. The specific evaluation criteria, separately for each activity, is explained in this section:

1) S1   (attendance and participation: 5% of the final grade): Attendance and participation in class will be evaluated by teaching staff´s observation, randomized control attendance and monitoring reports of the participations in the different activities proposed. The grade obtained in S1 will be added to the one obtained in S2 when the grade of this last entails the consideration of a passing grade. That is, when it has been obtained at least the half of the maximum grade for S2. The aim of S1 is to evaluate the learning outcomes R02, R05 y R07.

2) S2  (theory: 70% of the final grade): To successfully complete the course, it is required to take and pass the exam which includes the theoretical contents of the main topics (units). At least 3.5 points out of 7 points need to be reached in order to obtain a positive result in this exam. The exam consists of Multiple-Choice, and/or short answer questions.  The aim of S2 is to evaluate the learning outcomes R02, R05, R06, R07 y R013.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION: The theorical and practical contents will be adapted to English only for mobility students enrolled in the class groups B and C. The same with respect to the exams.

3) S3   (practice and training: 25% of the final grade): Students can get between 0 and 1.5 points for the completion of written reports based on the practice and training sessions and between 0 and 1 points for the completion of the self-formative activity based on the learned concepts in unit 1 or unit 2 (see methodology section). The aim of S3 is to evaluate the learning outcomes R01, R06, R07, R010 y R013. In case of not passing these small groups´ activities, the evaluation of them will be conducted by an exam. The examen will be accomplished in the period and dates officially established by the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences.

Sections S2 and S3 must be passed separately before proceeding to add both grades. The minimum grade required to consider each of these sections passed (S2, S3) will be the half of the maximum grade to obtain in each of them.

In Ordinary Call 1, students have to perform the different activities (S1, S2, S3) described above in order to pass the subject. The student who has not overcome or get a failing grade for S3, will be able to obtain the corresponding maximum grade through questions related to practice and training contents included in the exam that evaluates section S2. The exam will be accomplished in the period and dates officially established by the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences. The grade corresponding to S1, will only be counted through attendance and participation in large group lectures.

In the Extraordinary Call 2, the grades obtained during the Academic year for S3 activity will be maintained. Therefore, student who got a positive result for S3 (passed S3) will only have to attend and pass the exam based on the theoretical contents. Students who have not completed or get a failing grade for S3 will be able to obtain the highest grade by taking the exam based on this activity that will accompany to the S2 exam. The grade corresponding to S1 will be added to the grade corresponding to S2, evaluating both sections together.

In the Extraordinary Call 1, the grade obtained for S3 in the immediately preceding academic year will be maintained, only if the grade is a passing grade and the teachers consider the activities as equivalent or comparable in terms of theoretical contents and practice sessions to S3 in the current Academic year. The maintenance or not of the grade must be query directly by the student with the professor in charge of his/her evaluation. With the exception of the above reported information, the evaluation will be in the same terms as those already expressed for the extraordinary call 2.

The voluntary participation in empirical-research studies managed and conducted by the teaching staff, is granted with the possibility to receive extra bonus points. A maximum of 0.5 extra bonus points (minimum of 0.25 and maximum of 0.5 depending on the empirical-research) can be obtained and these will be added to the final grade. Students who do not want to voluntarily participate in these studies have the possibility to receive extra bonus points by writing a summary of a book or a scientific article, which match in content with the main topics/units. These documents (book, scientific article) will be chosen by the teaching staff. The extra bonus points cannot be used to pass the course. It will be added to the grade obtained in the other activities, provided that the latest will be equal to or greater than 5 (taking into account the evaluation specified in the previous sections).

The use of the mobile phone in class may be penalized with the expulsion of the student from the classroom. It will be strictly forbidden to have the mobile phone connected during the exam.

If the exam takes place in the same day than that of another subject, it will be carried out in accordance with:

REGLAMENTO DE RÉGIMEN ACADÉMICO Y DE EVALUACIÓN DEL ALUMNADO DE LA UNIVERSIDAD DE JAÉN

All this information will be complemented and specified in more detail at the beginning of the subject.
