3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

The concepts of inequality, marginalization and social exclusion. Social theories about the structures, processes and situations of marginalization / social exclusion. Mechanisms, dynamics and situations of social marginalization. Social marginalization and population with disabilities. Aging and social marginalization. Ethnic minorities and social exclusion. Racism and ethnicism. Under-housing, urban degradation and residential segregation. Addictions and dynamics of social marginalization. Prostitution, stigmatization and social exclusion.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

-Exhibitions in class by the teacher, based on two types of activities: 1) explanations by the teacher of the contents of the subject, and 2) analysis and clarification of texts selected by the teacher, which students must read and study .

They will be designed to achieve learning outcomes 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6.

- Practical classes, which will be articulated around the following activities: 1) exhibitions by students, 2) comments on texts, and 3) viewing and commenting on audiovisual topics studied in the theoretical classes.

They will be aimed at achieving learning outcomes 7 and 8.

-Tutorías collective / individual: students will attend these tutorials to resolve any questions you have about the contents of the subject.

- Student's personal work: the students have to take notes in the classes of the contents that the teacher exposes and explains; In addition, they must study the obligatory reading texts.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The evaluation of the students will be carried out attending to the following activities: participation in the activities carried out in the classes, written exam, participation and performance in the collective tutorials, written works.

Through these activities all the competences assigned to the subject are evaluated: G1, G2, G3, G4, G5, E1, E4, E12, E18 and E28.

The students that aspire to obtain the maximum grade of Honors Outstanding (from 10 points) will have to make and deliver a written work, which must previously agree with the teacher.

The rating of the evaluations will be numerical, in accordance with the provisions of article 5 of Royal Decree 1125/2003, of September 5 (BOE September 18), which establishes the European credit system and the system of qualifications in university degrees of an official nature valid in the national territory.

In case of suspending the exam in the ordinary call I and, consequently, the subject, the points obtained in the rest of the evaluation indicators will be saved for the extraordinary call II, but not for the following course (2021-22), in the that the students suspend will have to adapt to the work and evaluation regime that is established for that academic course.

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

MIXED SCENARIO

According to the agreement on common criteria for adaptation to university education to the health requirements of the epidemic of COVID-19 during the academic year 2021-22.

A1 - Expository classes in large group Face-to-face 50% Development of 45 sessions of participatory master classes, one hour each, held in the classroom and broadcasting by videoconference to the rest of the group, with periodic rotation of students
A2 - Classes in practice groups 100% or 50% face-to-face + Online Development of 15 sessions of practical classes, lasting one hour each, carried out in the classroom and broadcasting by videoconference to the rest of the group, with periodic rotation of students.
Online work sessions with the entire group will be considered, to be carried out autonomously, in subgroups or in large groups.
A3 - Face-to-face tutoring at 50% + Online Some tutoring sessions will be done in person and others online (synchronous and asynchronous)

Multimodal or mixed teaching will be carried out as long as we have the equipment that allows synchronous teaching, in those cases in which it is not possible to attend the entire group in the classroom

Evaluation:

The evaluation system will be the same for both the ordinary and the extraordinary call.

Detailed evaluation system:

The final grade for the course will be obtained from the sum of all the evaluation indicators. In case of suspending the written evaluation test (60%) in the ordinary call, the marks obtained both in participation and in the work done (30%) will be saved for the extraordinary call of this academic year, having to adapt to the teaching program of the next course, those students who do not pass the subject in extraordinary call.

Means:

Complementary teaching resources will be provided, consisting of various electronic bibliographic resources that can be accessed from the virtual catalog of the University of Jaén library, as well as materials provided by teachers through the Platea Virtual Teaching platform.

For online teaching and evaluation, the resources available at the University of Jaén will be used (Platea platform for Virtual Teaching and Google Suite tools). Students must have access to the internet and the necessary equipment to monitor teaching and carry out written work, which will be the assessment tests to be carried out, both in ordinary and extraordinary calls.

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

Format (online):

The students will be required to write a research paper. The topic of the work will be based on some of the chapters of the book, elaborating a synthesis and a reflection on this topic. Topics can include situational identity (ethnic, gender, religious or age), social reciprocity, codes of respect and politeness, ceremonies, rites of passage, kinship interaction or language use, in relation to social marginalization. The paper will be a maximum of 7 pages (1.5 line spacing, 12 point Times Roman font, 1 inch margin on all sides) excluding references and annexes.

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
