4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The students have to develop the following activities:

Lectures (A1): it will be developed with the explanation of the contents of each issue of the subject, using multimedia tools. Issues and case studies will be developed and and the students will solve real projects based on the contents.

Small groups (A2): laboratory practices and simulation using Matlab and Simscape. In these small groups the exercises will be solved to test the feasibility of the work done.

Collective/individual tutorials (A3): these sessions will be held at the end of each topic of the course in order to clarify doubts, monitor and discuss the projects proposed in A1 activity as well as allowing students to explain the work done in a short period of time. Lastly, seminars on topics that pose greater difficulty in learning will be made.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The assessment system will consist of the following items:

Active participation in class (S1): assistance to students through various planned activities and attendance, active participation in the issues raised and participation in group work are taken into account. This system will be, at most, 15% of the overall grade for the course.

Domain of theoretical and operational knowledge of the subject (S2): two written exams consist of two different parts. In the first part, an adequate number of theoretical questions will be included and in the second part, several problems will be made. This system will be, at most, 70% of the overall grade for the course.

Delivery work well resolved (S3): two works (1 single and 1 group) on a topic of the course, in which the structure will be analyzed, and the documentation quality, originality, spelling and presentation will be held. This system will be, at most, 15% of the overall grade for the course.

3.- RESOURCES

All the planned activities will be carried out using the virtual teaching platform of the University of Jaén and Google Meet.
