4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

A1. EXPOSITIVE CLASSES IN LARGE GROUP. Presentation of the main theoretical-practical contents. 30 h

Although they are led by the teacher, students also have an active role in the resolution of cases and problems during the sessions and involve a significant proportion of self-work by the student.

A.2. CLASSES IN GROUPS OF PRACTICES 20 h

They consist of four types of activities:

M10MR. Problem Solving. It is an essential part of the course. Students will be given a list of problems, some of which will be resolved as examples in class and others will be proposed as assignments to deliver through the university teaching platform.

M6MR. Seminars. Presentation and discussion of one or more case studies about the contents of the subject or the presentation to the classmates of the resolution of numerical problems by students (one per student, if possible, depending on the number of students).

M8MR. Laboratories. It consists of a two-hour session in the laboratories of the Chemical Engineering Department, in order to know essential elements of a facility such as heat exchangers, reactors, distillation columns, etc.

M9MR. Computer room. Use of the process simulation software ASPEN Plus in the computer room.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Written exam. Solving of issues and problems related to the contents developed during the course (50% value). This element of evaluation is especially oriented to CB10R, CB6R, CB7R, CB8R, CB9R, CE04, CG01, CG02, CG03, CG04, CG07, CG08, CG09, CG10, CG11, CT01, CT02, CT03 and CT05 skills. Similarly, it is an element which will assess the achievement of the three learning outcomes considered in this matter. 

A minimum grade of 4 out of 10 points is required in this evaluation item to be considered in the final grade. If this score is not reached, the rest of the evaluation elements will not be considered.

Delivery of assignments. The teacher will propose several problems to deliver, primarily through the UJA teaching platform at different dates throughout the semester. Allocations may also include the contents of the work done in seminars and the topics coverd through the conferences given by industry representatives. The submission and evaluation of these assignments can be up to 40% of the final grade.

Competences affected by this element of evaluation are mainly CB10R, CB6R, CB7R, CB8R, CB9R, CE04, CG01, CG02, CG03, CG04, CG07, CG08, CG09, CG10, CG11, CT01, CT02, CT03 and CT05. Similarly, it is an element which will assess the achievement of the three learning outcomes considered in this matter.

Detail of competences developed specifically with these elements of evaluation:

Delivery of assignments through the platform: CG09, CG11

Lab and computer practice. Attendance at laboratory and computer sessions and delivery, if any, of the corresponding assignments, represent up to 10% of the final grade. The competences developed more specifically are: CB10R, CB6R, CB7R, CE04

 

In extraordinary call it will be guaranteed that the students can pass the course, and if applicable, obtain the maximum grade, by means of the correct realization of an evaluation test.

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above.
