Note: Additionally, for those students who have not participated during the academic year in the continuous evaluation activities previously mentioned, the evaluation of the extraordinary call will be evaluated according to the final mark of the exam of the subject consisting of a written test which will be done online on the date and time established in the academic calendar. In this way, all the aspects included in the exam of the ordinary call (identity verification, recording of the exam, etc.), will be applied in a similar way in the extraordinary call.

 3) RESOURCES

As synchronous resources are the following:

  • Tutorial sessions via videoconferences.

As asynchronous resources are the following:

  • Presentations of the content and resolution of exercises through the docencia virtual platform.
  • Creation of doubt consultation tools through the 'docencia virtual' platform.

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

1) TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES

Training activities

Format

Teaching methodology - Description

A1- Expository lessons in large group

Online

The face-to-face expository lessons will be replaced by synchronous or asynchronous sessions depending on the concepts taught. The asynchronous modality will consist of video recordings that are gradually provided to the students according to the planning of the subject. These recorded sessions will be developed using material prepared and handwritten ny the lecturer, which is also provided and is an ideal complement in the development of the teaching sessions.

At the same time, the student body has multimedia presentations for each topic that are provided at the beginning of their teaching .

A2 - Expository lessons in small group

Online

Regarding the practical/problems sessions, in the same way as in the case of the theoretical sessions, they can combine the synchronous and asynchronous modalities. In case that the session requires the resolution of a certain practical problem, its resolution could be carried out synchronously by the lecturer according to the established schedule, or asynchronously by handwritten resolution by the lecture and provided with a detailed description of the resolution approach and procedure.

 2) ASSESSMENT SYSTEM

Ordinary call

Taking into account the importance that this subject has within the Master in Industrial Engineering, which can be considered a continuation of the Machine Design subject (one of the main subjects of the Degree in Mechanical Engineering), replace the face-to-face examination for examination online it is believed to be the best option to ensuring the acquisition of the required competences and learning outcomes of the subject. The following table contains all the details regarding the evaluation system in the case of a non-attendance scenario:

ASPECT

CRITERIA

INSTRUMENT

WEIGHT

Theoretical concepts of matter.

Mastery of the theoretical-practical content.

Online exam that will have a weight of 50%. In this sense, a synchronous examination will be carried out on the date and time established in the academic calendar. Likewise, it is necessary that the students reach a minimum score of 4 points out of 10 to be able to choose the weighting of the different aspects that make up the evaluation system. The exam will evaluate both technical and operational knowledge of the subject, which the student must solve on paper according to the established and agreed time for the exam, delivering the scanned or photographed documentation at the end of the exam. To verify the identity and guarantee the correct completion of the exam by the student, the student must remain permanently connected and with a microphone and camera connected, after receiving information from the lecturer. The assessment tests will be recorded by recording video calls or electronically to provide evidence for subsequent review, always guaranteeing that the ethical foundations are respected and safeguarding the privacy of the student body.

50%

Theoretical concepts of matter.

Correct resolution of problems/cases raised by the lecturer.

In addition to the written test, taking into account that the weight of the exam in the original teaching guide is 80%, the rest of the weight (30%) will be linked to carrying out activities in order to assess the knowledge and skills used by the student when facing and solving a problem or a case focused on challenging the understanding of the contents of the subject by the students. The evaluation of these activities can be carried out in any of the two modalities, synchronous or asynchronous. In this way, on some occasions the resolution of a case or problem can be carried out by means of a synchronous activity, while on other occasions the resolution will require much more detailed work, which will involve prior study, data analysis and the construction of hypotheses, reason why it would have an asynchronous character. In this last modality (asynchronous), the lecturer may request the recording of a video by the student explaining the resolution carried out by the student.

30%

Practical sessions

Correct resolution of the practical sessions

Report with the resolution of the different practical sessions by the students. It is necessary to submit all the practical reports on the dates indicated by the lecturer in order to pass the course.

  • Tutorial sessions via videoconferences.

As asynchronous resources are the following:

  • Presentations of the content and resolution of exercises through the 'docencia virtual' platform.
  • In the case of the theoretical sessions, facilitation of material developed and handwritten by the lecturer that additionally contains comments and /or description of the different theoretical concepts on the subject's syllabus, which are an ideal complement in the development of the teaching sessions.
