7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

1) TEACHING METHODOLOGY AND TRAINING ACTIVITIES

The default teaching language will be Spanish. All activities will be face-to-face as far as the health situation allows, or 50% face-to-face (with group rotation and videoconference broadcast to the rest of the group), depending on the number of students enrolled in the subject and the capacity of the classroom.

Training activities

Format   (face-to-face / online)*

Teaching methodology description

Expository classes: master classes, theory exposition and examples

Face-to-face  or periodical rotation of students, provided that the classroom  has the technical system required for broadcasting.

45 one-hour sessions in the classroom (master classes, theory exposition and example resolution).

If the classroom did not have the required broadcasting technical system, these sessions would be substituted by online videoconferences for all students.

Practical classes: classes in  computer lab

Face-to-face  or periodical rotation of students, provided that the classroom   has the technical system required for broadcasting.

9 one-hour practical sessions in computer lab.

If the classroom did not have the required broadcasting technical system, these sessions would be substituted by online videoconferences for all students.

Practical classes: practical problems and exercises

Face-to-face  or periodical rotation of students, provided that the classroom   has the technical system required for broadcasting.

6 one-hour sessions for the resolution of problems and exercises autonomously by the students.

If the classroom did not have the required broadcasting technical system, these sessions would be substituted by online videoconferences for all students.

Tutorial sessions

Face-to-face + online

Tutorial sessions will be held face-to-face or by videoconference (synchronous at the scheduled time or asynchronous). English language will be used.

When appropriate, the teaching staff reserve the right to deny capture, publication,  broadcasting  or reproduction of their speech, image, voice and explanations.

2) ASSESSMENT SYSTEM

Face-to-face final exam (written test of exercises and practical problems):  80%.

Continuous assessment activities (resolution of practical cases with computer, which will be assessed throughout the teaching period): 20%.  Due to the continuous nature of these practical tests, their mark may be kept for the 2nd Extraordinary Call of this academic year. Nonetheless, students who have not completed all continuous assessment activities, for some justified reason, can take a single global exam in which both the acquisition of knowledge and the ability to apply it to practical situations will be assessed.

A student will be marked as "No presentado" (no mark) if they do not take any tests or continuous assessment tasks and do not take the final exam.

If the exam or some of the assessment tests could not be carried out face-to-face, they will be carried out online (see the non-attendance scenario  and the data protection clause included in this syllabus).

All assessment material will be available in English.
