3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Theory

1. Smart City concept.

Introduction. Historical summary. Cities today. Concept of Smart City. Smart city models. Smart city networks.

2. Elements and variables of the smart city

Introduction. Variables: human and social capital; quality of life; economy; governance; mobility; environment and energy. Other elements: technologies in the smart city; services and businesses. Strategies for the implementation of a smart city.

3. Intelligent territory.

Concept of Smart territory. Examples of smart territories: regions, municipalities, parks. Territorial diagnosis. Planning and management tools. Services and products.

4. Geospatial Information in Smart Cities and Territories.

Characteristics of the information. Systems for the capture of information in urban environments. Systems for the capture of information in rural environments.

5. Connected sensors.

Definition of connected sensor. Typology of sensors. Classification and requirements. Main architectures and networks. Connection of sensors. Applications, management and maintenance of sensor networks.

6. Digital transformation. Internet of Everything (IoE).

Evolution of the Internet. Internet of Everything (IoE). Connection of people, processes, data and objects. Technology as a facilitating agent in the improvement of management. Security and management. Cloud city operation center.

7. Big Data and Open Data.

Typology of the data. Importance of data and information. Open Data. Interoperability, applications and services. Big Data in the environment of Smart Cities and Territories. Machine Learning and Deep Learning in the environment of Smart Cities and Territories.

Practice

Development of a proposal for the smart management of a space or territory, using geomatics tools for capturing and analyzing geospatial information.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The theory classes will developed in 9 sessions with keynote expositions of the theoretical concepts of the subject and examples, in a participative environment with expositions of the students and discussions of aspects of interest.

The practical classes will include the preparation, presentation and discussion of a proposal for the intelligent management of a space or territory, with the use of geomatics tools for the capture and analysis of geospatial information.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

With the theory exam, the competences CB7, CB8, CG1IGEO, CG2IGEO, CT1, CT2, CT5, E09MIGEO are evaluated.

Results: RB7a, RB8, RG1IGEO, RG2IGEO, RT1, RT2, RT5, RE09MIGEO.

With the accomplishment of practices, the competences CB7, CB8, CG1IGEO, CG2IGEO, CT1, CT2, CT4, CT5E01MIGEO, E07MIGEO, E09MIGEO are evaluated.

Results: RB7a, RB7b, RB7c, RB8, RG1IGEO, RG2IGEO, RT1, RT2, RT4, RT5, RE01MIGEO, RE07MIGEO, RE09MIGEO.

With the attendance and participation, the competences CB8, CG1IGEO, CT4, CT5, E09MIGEO are evaluated.

Results: RB8, RG1IGEO, RT4, RT5, RE09MIGEO.

To pass the subject will be necessary to pass the theory exam and the practical work of the subject, independently.

The final score of the subject will be calculated taking into account the weighting of each of the parts (theory and practices).

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

Given the number of students, no changes respect to the classroom-learning scenario are necessary, both in the activities and the evaluation.

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

No changes respect to the classroom-learning scenario, except that the lectures, exams and presentations will take place through the Google Meet sessions and Google Forms/Virtual learning platform (exams).

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
