I. Fundamentals of scientific activity and research in Social Education.
II. Phases, processes and designs of social research.
III. Approaches and research designs in Social Education.
IV. Preparation, management and dissemination and evaluation of research reports in Social Education.
The methodology followed is participatory and collaborative, with interventions both teachers and students and seeking at all times the acquisition of learning in a reflective, innovative and inquiring in the sources of information and in the contexts of Social Education.
The theoretical classes combine the exposition of the contents by the teacher with the reflection and comments of the same by the students, as well as the realization of activities related to these contents in the theoretical classes.
The practical classes contemplate the development of research projects in Social Education, documentation, review of documentary databases, realization of research projects, resolution of cases, data analysis, etc. Performing in some cases in the classroom and in other cases in computer rooms.
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
Evaluation of the Theoretical-Practical Content (70%):
The theoretical and practical contents of the subject will be evaluated by carrying out a knowledge test (exam on the official calendar date) of the 4 content blocks of the subject. The test will consist of a question of development, a question of practical application (problems, assumptions, etc.) and a set of questions of closed answer type test. The exam will have a value of 70% (weighted) of the total value of the subject.
Evaluation of the Practices and Research Work: 25% (weighted)
The attendance, participation and correct execution of the Practices-Seminars, will have up to 5% of the total value of the subject. To overcome the subject it is precious to attend and perform the internship.
The realization of a work or research project in Social Education with an empirical approach and respecting the rules for carrying out these reports and public defense in class, will have a value of up to 25% of the subject.
The PATIE-ERASMUS students will have to contact the teacher at the beginning of the semester to configure and adapt their training process.

Following the indications of the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences of the UJA, "Degrees whose number of students and classrooms assigned for teaching do not allow the theory and practice teaching activity to be carried out in person and simultaneously for the entire group, weeks of semi-attendance and weeks of non-attendance would alternate. In the weeks of semi-attendance, classroom theory and / or practice may be taught, with the necessary group divisions so that the students in the classroom do not exceed, in any case, the capacity allowed by health measures. In the weeks of non-attendance all teaching would be taught by virtual means synchronously or asynchronously. "
Given that the number of students enrolled in this subject exceeds 75-80 students, a multimodal or mixed teaching scenario cannot be developed, neither in the theoretical part nor in the practical part of the subject, since the safety distance would not be ensured in no case (theory classrooms) and much less in computer science classrooms (classrooms for the practices of this subject).
Only a mixed or multimodal scenario would be possible in the event that one of the 4 classrooms of the University of Jaén were assigned for theory, which allow teaching for groups of 44 people (E1, E2, E3 and E4) respecting the distance of security of at least 1.5 meters, and in no case in the computer rooms.
Therefore, for this subject of this degree, a multi-modal or mixed teaching scenario would not be possible.
Only in the event that this degree were assigned to one of the classrooms that allow the safe distance to be preserved for a group of more than 40 students, only in that case, would multimodal or mixed teaching be taught. For this, the organization would be as follows (a model is proposed for the first two weeks, which would be repeated in odd and even weeks, respectively):
Week 1.
Semipresencial subgroup 1 (40 students), also group of Practices 1 (Practices 1).
No face-to-face subgroup 2 (40 students), also no face-to-face in practice group 2.
Week 2
Semipresencial subgroup 2 (40 students), also group of Practices 2 (Practices 2).
No attendance subgroup 1 (40 students), also no attendance in practice group 1.
In the following weeks this sequence will be alternated. Always respecting the criteria established by the Faculty of Humanities and Educational Sciences, and provided that the safety distance between students is ensured.
The rest of the organizational and curricular questions of the Teaching Guide would follow in this scenario the indications reflected in the "no face-to-face" scenario.
Brief description of changes in content and
skills.
The
contents that would be partially affected would be those that are
developed in a section of ("Procedures for the analysis of the
results"), of the II Block of Contents Phases, Processes and
Designs of Social Research. Only in part, not in its entirety,
having to adapt the development of aspects related to practices in
the computer room and the analysis of research results.
The basic
competences and general competences in the teaching guides will not
be altered, since all of them will be developed through the online
classes, the practical tasks developed and during the group work
that the students carry out, as well as with the autonomous work.
by the student.
Only the
full development of specific competence No. 11 (CE11) will be
affected: "Knowing how to use socio-pedagogical procedures and
techniques for intervention, mediation and analysis of personal,
family and social reality", since some of the practices planned in
the computer room with the support of programs for data analysis,
it has not been possible to carry them out, as a result of the
situation that forces students to be at home. For the development
of this competition, it was planned to carry out practices on data
analysis with programs to calculate it, which have been replaced by
"pencil and paper" exercises and video tutorials available on
different thematic channels, as well as the activities carried out
by the teacher through video-classes with the resource "Google
Meet" that is available at the University of Jaén.
Throughout the remaining 3 courses of the Degree, students will be
able to acquire this competence without problem, in various
subjects as well as in the completion of the Final Degree
Project.
Changes in teaching methodology
It will
not be necessary a methodological change in teaching (neither in
theory nor in practices), in the development of the theoretical
sessions or in the practices, only in the inclusion of resources
specified in the corresponding section, both for the theoretical
and practical development of the subject.
The
tutorials are carried out virtually through various virtual tools
recommended by the institution on the PLATEA platform and on
Google Meet to respond to the situation caused by
COVID-19.
Changes in training activities
The
activities contemplated in the original teaching guide were:
A01 -
Exhibition classes in large group
MA01 -
Master classes, introductory activities, conferences, etc.
A02 -
Classes in practice groups
MA02 -
Practical activities, seminars, debates, laboratories, solving
exercises, exhibitions, etc.
There will
be no substantial modification in the expository classes, only an
adaptation of the resource used for its development (video
conference through the Google Meet resource for the UJA), video
conference instead of the classroom class.
In the
practices, the usual procedure, group work, resolution of exercises
and presentations have been continued. Only the practical classes
in the computer room have been affected by the analysis of data
with specific programs for its calculation, supplemented by other
resources that have been described.
The
virtual teaching platform PLATEA and Google Meet will be used
for synchronous activities and email, forums and virtual tutoring,
individual and group, for asynchronous activities.
The
proportion and weight of the practices in the evaluation system,
the weight of the practical work is increased up to 40%, 50% to the
examination of the contents and 10% for the attendance and
participation, following the indications received from the
institution (exam content with a maximum recommended value of
50%).
Changes in the evaluation system
The
evaluation system of the subject will only be modified in the
proportion assigned to each of the parts of the subject (exam 50%,
practical work 40%, attendance and participation 10%). The same
evaluation criteria are maintained, the learning results that are
requested of the students and the evaluation instruments are the
same (practical group work and examination of theoretical and
practical knowledge of the subject.
The
supervision of the process of elaboration of group work dynamized
by a formative evaluation (continuous) with feedback from the
teaching staff and preparation-presentation of the work of
initiation to group research: it will have 40% of the total value,
the weight of the examination of the subject You will have 50%
through a synchronous online examination of objective questions and
practical application of the content; and attendance and active
participation up to 10%.
Only the
type of exam will be modified, taking place in electronic format
"online" through an examination of theoretical and practical
objective questions, prepared and through the resources of the
virtual teaching platform "PLATEA" of the UJA or google virtual
teaching resources only for the RIUJA network community (Google
forms [google forms]).
These
changes will affect both the students of the Social Education
Degree, as well as the ERASMUS or international mobility students
who take the PATIE Program in this area.
As
specified in the other aspects of the evaluation (criteria,
instruments, etc.), they are not modified from the aspects
contemplated in the original Guide, except for the indicated
aspects of the weight or proportion that have been
modified.
Temporalization
The
established times, the distribution and sequencing of the contents
of the Guide are maintained in the development of the
subject.
Only, some
dates of the realization of some practices have been modified since
they could not be done in person.
In the
same way, the exhibition of practical work in groups, can be done,
but not in person but in a virtual way "online", being necessary to
deliver the work in electronic format instead of "paper" as
established.
All the
dates and deadlines established for the delivery of the practical
work are maintained, as well as for the official examinations of
the subject.
Resources and infrastructure
For the
correct development of the subject, it has been necessary to use
various resources not covered in the original Guide to the subject,
the vast majority of which are technological, since what has been
promoted is the use of technology within the reach of teachers
(video -tutorials, large group teaching with video-conferencing
with Google Meet, Video conferencing tutoring, documentation in
electronic format, etc.).
In
addition, all the other teaching resources that were contemplated
in the subject have been used and that this teacher usually uses on
a regular basis (use of the ILIAS Platform, ILIAS Chat, Subject
Forum on the ILIAS platform, Slides, Groups of Practices, Academic
Activities Directed with sending by the platform, links,
etc.).
It has
also been necessary to inform students of the usefulness of books,
electronic resources and magazines in electronic format that are
available to them at the UJA Library (BUJA), as well as access to
the Databases subscribed by the UJA . In addition, these aspects
mentioned are specific contents of this matter, paying greater
attention and space given the special circumstances.
