5. Resources and activities for language teaching:

5.1. Apps for language teaching. Analysis and evaluation

5.2. Traditional techniques: story-telling, learner-based teaching, dictation, songs role-plays, debates and discussions, drama and humanistic activities.

5.3. Teaching materials: DVD, computer and Web-based materials, graded readers, audiovisual materials.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Several tasks and presentations will be carried out, both individual and in group. First, prospective teachers will act out as learners, experimenting the different activities, techniques, materials and classroom dynamics that can be done in the classroom.

Secondly, several textbook analysis will be done, to find out if they follow official regulations established in the Common European Framework for Languages.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Three tools will be taken into consideration:

1. Individual textbook analysis through an individual written work

2. Two oral presentations, one individual and another one in groups, in which some technique or material will be developed both theoretically and in practice

3. Attendance and participation in activities and debates, both initiated by the teacher and also by the other students.

7. VIRTUAL / CLASSROOM TEACHING SCENARIO

Depending on the number of students enrolled in the subject,  teaching will take place in the classroom (from 100% to 50% attendance). In case the students' ratio is higher than classroom space allows, theory will take place by means of online presentations, whereas practical exercises, tasks and textbook analyses will be developed in the classroom.

Evaluation will be similar to the situation in which students may attend physical classes. Up to 65% of the mark will be focused on textbook analysis and selection-evaluation of online learning activities, whereas 35% of the mark will focus on group presentations.

8. VIRTUAL TEACHING SCENARIO

Several types of activities will be included:

online tutorials and seminars for small groups

forum for doubts

online presentations, both individual (dealing with online L2 resources) and in groups (resources and materials). This last type of presentation may include any resources, videos and simulations students consider useful for the development of the topic presented.

DATA PROTECTION CLAUSE (on line exams)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
