4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Students will be provided with notes on the topics developed, which they will have to read and comment on in class. The theoretical sessions will be oriented around these notes to clarify concepts, give examples and develop the key points when carrying out the practical exercises.

At the same time, they will be provided with a list of bibliography and adequate sources, as well as academic guidance, to carry out the essays and other works independently.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Active participation and attendance will be evaluated with 20% of the total grade. The teacher will base this grade on the following aspects:
Attendance: Regular class attendance and signature sheets will be taken into account, as well as attendance at group tutorials.
Active participation: Active participation will be taken into account not only within class, but also within those spaces for debate and activities that are organized online, such as ILIAS, etc.

The mastery of the theoretical and practical concepts will be evaluated through an exam that will count with a maximum of 40% of the final grade.

The remaining 40% of the grade will be based on written essays and oral activities. The following aspects will be evaluated: structure of the work, delivery within the indicated deadlines, quality of the written and oral expression in English, quality of the content, originality, formal quality of the work. Plagiarism will be penalized with the loss of the note of this section.

NB: regarding the dates for the final exams, international mobility students must consider that, except for exceptional reasons, they will not be able to take them on alternative dates, as they will be considered in the same terms as the rest of the students to all effects. The official exams will take place in May-June ("ordinary assessment") and, if the student does not pass the subject, in June-July ("extraordinary re-sit assessment").

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.
