3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Unit 1. Globalization and migratory processes. Introduction Concepts and meanings.

Unit 2. Explanatory theories of migrations. Migration history.

Unit 3. Emigration and immigration processes in the European and Spanish context. Features of Andalusia.

Unit 4. Social action policies on migration and insertion processes. Situations of irregularity. Situations of family transnationalism. Shelter and asylum.

Unit 5. Analysis of the vulnerability processes that affect migrants. Intersectional analysis of immigration inequalities with categories of gender, ethnicity, social class, age, culture. The multidimensionality of the forms of exclusion, discrimination and oppression in relation to the systems of patriarchy, racism, classism and cultural fundamentalism.

Unit 6. Management and intervention models from Social Work. Public systems, social services and the Third Sector linked to the needs of immigration / emigration. Current situation of economic crisis.

Unit 7. Challenges, dilemmas of the Social Work professional and the migratory processes.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

- Expository theoretical classes of the teacher, based on the basic and complementary texts of the subject.

- Discussions on the main topics worked on in class.

- Visualization of relevant material linked to the contents of the subject.

- The theoretical-practical contents of the different specific areas of intervention in Social Work will be prepared (in the practical sessions) in a group by the students (through a bibliographic review) and exposed to the large class group. 

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

In all the evaluation systems it is compulsory to approve the theory on the one hand and the individual practice on the other, once approved the final summation will be made

Development of participatory theory sessions, lasting one hour each, carried out in the classroom. The total student body will be divided into two groups, the weekly rotation is applied in groups of the students who attend versus those who do not attend to those who are broadcast live (streaming), if infrastructure permits, the theoretical classes (synchronously)

Purpose: In accordance with the Universities Law and other national and regional regulations in force, carrying out exams and assessment tests corresponding to the courses students are registered in. In order to avoid frauds while sitting the exam, the exam will be answered using a videoconference system, being able the academic staff of the University of Jaén to compare and contrast the image of the person who is answering the exam with the student's photographic files. Likewise, in order to provide the exam with evidential content for revisions or claims, in accordance with current regulation frameworks, the exam will be recorded and stored.

Legitimacy: compliance with legal obligations (Universities Law) and other national and regional regulations currently in force.

Addressees: service providers who are the owners of the platforms where the exams are carried out and with whom the University of Jaén has signed the corresponding data access contracts.

Storage periods: those established in current in force regulations. In the specific case of exam videoconference recordings, not before the examination records and transcripts are closed or the exam can still be reviewed or challenged.

Rights: you can exercise your right of access, amendment, cancellation, opposition, suppression, limitation and portability by sending a letter to the postal or electronic address indicated above. In the event that you consider that your rights have been violated, you may submit a complaint to the Andalusian Council for Transparency and Data Protection www.ctpdandalucia.es
