4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

DETAILED INFORMATION:

The theoretical and practical contents of the program topics will be developed in large group lectures. The necessary information, topics and problem relationships will be available on the ILIAS platform.

In the seminars the proposed problems are completed and the participation of the students to the resolution of the same in the class is valued.

Likewise, topics related to the practical contents of the program will be proposed to present presentations in the groups of directed activities.

The didactic resources of support for the development of the subject, subjects, problems, exams solved from other courses, will be collected in the corresponding space of the ILIAS platform.

Finally, the delivery of exercises, seminars, practices, etc, will be carried out virtually through the subject page, ILIAS.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

DETAILED INFORMATION:

The exam, which will be taken on the date determined by the University, will be a written test in which there will be, in a weighted way, theory questions (40%-50%) and practical problems (60%-50%). The aim is to ascertain the degree of assimilation of the theoretical content of the subject, as well as whether the student has been able to reach the required competencies.

The theoretical part includes a battery of multiple choice questions.

In order to compute with the rest of the activities, the minimum qualification of 4 points must be obtained in the evaluation of contents.

With the exam the following competences will be evaluated: CE1, CT1, CT3, CT4, CT5, CT6, CT7 and CT9.

The report of the four practices will contribute with 1.2 points to the final grade of the subject. All internships are delivered at the end of the internship in a single document in docx format, which will be uploaded through the ILIAS platform within the indicated period of time. The internship note is reserved for two consecutive academic years.

The internship report will be used to evaluate the following competencies: CE1, CG1, CG5, CT1, CT2, CT3, CT5, CT6, CT7, CT8, CT9 and CT10.

Teaching methodology Description

8 Practical sessions in specialized laboratories

Online 50%

It will consist in four  4 practical sessions, of two hours. In the sesión time half of the group will be in the laboratory working with experimental data, and the other  of the students will be writting the results in another class next to the laboratory. The position of the group will be exchanged from one sesion to another.

44 Theoretical sessions on the contents of the programme

Online 100%

Development using Google Meet and exposing the topics and problems in Power Point

6 Problem solving sessions/exercises

Presencial (100%)

They will consist of 3 face-to-face sessions of two hours each. It mainly consists of problem solving and the presentation of topics related to the subject individually or in groups of two.

Evaluation system.

As in the face-to-face situation, the weight of the three sections considered in the evaluation is the same.

The evaluation system in the ordinary convocatory contemplates the possibility of continuous evaluation by means of partial alternatives to the final exam.

In the extraordinary convocatory only contemplates the possibility of final examination with all the contents of the subject.

In all cases, the exams will be structured as described in the following section
