4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The most used methodology will be the expository class in large group.

The classes in small groups will generate 4-5 activities (related with: bibliographic search of scientificts texts in the field of neuroscience, comprehensive reading of these texts, preparation of oral and written communications, and specific activities on some topics of the program).

For more information on the development of activities in the different possible teaching scenarios (multimodal or mixed or not face-to-face), which will depend on the health conditions prevailing in the teaching period of the subject, see the final sections of the guide.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The theoretical exam will consist mainly of a test of multiple-choice questions with a maximun value of 7 points. This activity aims to achieve mainly the next learning outcomes: R06 and R09.

Attendance, especially in small group classes, and the active participation, both in small and large group classes, will be taken into consideration and valuated to a maximun of 0.5 points.

The realization and defence of the programmed activities will have a maximum value of 2.5. By mean of these activities it is pretended to evaluate mainly the next learning outcomes: R02, R03, R04 and R05.

In any case, in order to add the punctuation obtained from the programmed activities and the participation of the student (maximun 3 points), is mandatory to reach an equal or higher punctuation than 3.1 (of 7, wich is the maximum) in the theoretical exam.

The punctuation obtained from the programmed activities and the participation of the student (maximun 3 points) will be save for the next academic year if the student requests it.

Will not be necessary overcome the programmed activities (though its realization has a mandatory character except justified causes) to sit for the final theotetical exam whose maximum value is 7 point (for the first ordinary call).

However, in extraordinary calls, the student will have the option to be evaluated both, of the theoretical and of the practical contents, so that he / she could get the maximum punctuation, 10 points.
