4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

This course consists of 9 units, which will be developed in theoretical and practical work sessions. The first of these sessions will always be a comprehensive presentation of the unit by the teacher, which will be intended to:

  • situate the topic in the field as a whole and identify its fundamental objectives
  • outline its theoretical contents, focusing on those it considers to be most relevant or complex
  • comment on the bibliographic and digital links guide
  • plan the overall work on the unit, both theoretical and practical.

For each unit, the students will have a list of the specific objectives that must be mastered when the unit ends. For the achievement of these objectives, they will have the support of a bibliography (basic and complementary) and a list of specialist magazines and websites. As for the class sessions themselves, they will be devoted to the exposition, clarification, comment and discussion of these specific objectives. Moreover, in order to facilitate the follow-up of the overall content of the unit, each theoretical session will begin with a brief summary of the main issues addressed in the previous session.

Regarding the practical aspect of the subject, the student must perform synchronous activities (on which the student can work individually and/or in groups, and will be the material on which the practical sessions of each unit are developed) and asynchronous (designed for the student to work on his own in strengthening the knowledge and skills acquired in the theoretical part of the subject). Practical activities include:

  • carrying out work, exercises and case study;
  • commentary of texts;
  • individual and/or collective presentations.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Assessment methodology:

The evaluation of the students’ theoretical knowledge and practical training will be based on three criteria:

  • 10% of the total mark will be obtained on the basis of their regular attendance at and active participation in classroom (oral contributions and exercises.)
  • 60% comes from the quality of the final exam taken by the students at the end of the four-month period.
  • 30% corresponds to the submission of assignments.
