THEORETICAL CLASSES
UNIT I (ELECTROTHERAPY)
Chapter 1: Key concepts in Electrotherapy.
Chapter 2: Direct current (Galvanism, Iontophoresis and other monophasic pulsed currents -Dyadinamics and Träebert therapy).
Chapter 3: Electroanalgesia (Pathophysiology of pain; types of TENS).
Chapter 4: Electrical muscle stimulation (NMES, Russian Stimulation).
Chapter 5: Electrodiagnosis (Strenght/Duration curves; Treatment of peripheral paralysis).
Chapter 6: High frequency (Short Pulsed Therapy, Microwaves and Diathermy).
UNIT II (LASER THERAPY)
Chapter 7: Laser Therapy.
UNIT III (ULTRASOUND THERAPY)
Chapter 8: Ultrasound Therapy
Chapter 9: Combination therapy.
UNIT IV (MAGNETIC FIELDS)
Chapter 10: Magnetic Therapy.
UNIT V (OTHER ELECTROTHERAPY MODALITIES)
Chapter 11: Microcurrent Therapy, High voltage pulsed, Biofeedback and Shockwave therapies.
PRACTICAL LESSONS:
UNIT I (ELECTROTHERAPY)
1.- Direct current (Galvanism and Iontophoresis).
2.- Other monophasic pulsed currents: Dyadinamics and Träebert therapy.
3.- Transcutaneous electrical nerve stimulation (TENS types).
4.- Interferential Therapy.
5.- Neuromuscular electrical stimulation (NMES).
6.- Electrodiagnosis (Strength-Duration Curves).
7.- High frequency (Pulsed short waves and Microwave therapy).
UNIT II (ULTRASOUND THERAPY)
8- Ultrasound and Combination Therapy practical lesson.
UNIT III (LASER THERAPY)
9.- Laser Therapy practical lesson.
UNIT IV (MAGNETIC FIELDS)
10.- Magnetic Therapy practical lesson.
Lecture (Theory): 2 hours per week.
Lecture (Practice): 3 hours per week.
Possibility of having a supplementary seminar.
Homework: 4 hours per week.
