3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Background and current challenges of the Public Social Services in Spain.

Regulatory development of Social Services: Social Services in the Spanish Constitution. Regional Social Services Laws. Other regulations related to Social Services.

Organizational structure of Social Services: Levels of intervention: Community and Specialized social services (definition, objectives, characteristics, basic services). Areas of action: by population groups and by specific needs.

Distribution of competencies and territorial organization of Social Services in Andalucia.

Private and social management of public services.

Identification of resources and equipment of the public social services system.

Theoretical models of Social Policy and its application in different countries of the European Union.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

- Expository activities of teacher and students (theoretical exposition, seminars, presentation of works)

- Practical activities (practices inside and outside the classroom, professional visits)

- Tutoring (follow-up teacher-student, both individually and in small groups)

- Personal work (individual or team work, preparation of presentations, personal study)

- Evaluation (performance of evaluation tests, self-evaluation, peer evaluation, feedback)

In this subject the use of mobile phones, IPOD and any other device of this type is forbidden, so the use of it may lead to expulsion from the classroom.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The student assessment will combine various methods that will be selected from among the following:

- Written test: essay exams, objective or semi-objective tests, problem solving, test type tests, reports, projects and class journals, etc. With the objective of fulfilling the competences assigned to this evaluation system (E23, E26, E1, G2, E4, E3, E22, E2)

 - Oral lectures in class: individual or group, on contents of the syllabus (seminar) and on the realization of practical activities corresponding to specific competences E23, E26, E1, G2, E4, E3, E22, E2

- Active participation of students in the activities programmed in the subject.

 - Assistance to individual and group tutoring.

This selection will be made taking as criteria the relevant elements for the realization of the corresponding competences, content-achievements associated with them, and taking into account the criteria for the realization of the competences (E14, E21, E15, E16, E27, E28, E29)

It will be necessary to pass the theoretical exam to be able to add the practical notes. In turn, in the ordinary call it will be necessary to approve the internship (continuous assessment) in order to pass the exam. The practice note will only be saved for the current academic year. Spelling errors in both the exams and the papers presented will score negatively.

In the extraordinary call, the student will have the right to be evaluated globally (from 0 to 10 points).

Likewise, in the evaluation of the subject, any suspicion that the student is not complying with the norm of taking the exam, as well as using any method that exceeds the one allowed in the instructions administered in the evaluation, will suppose the expulsion from the classroom and the corresponding grade of suspense.

 

Evaluation of learning outcomes:

 

- The learning results EST SER 1, EST SER 2, EST SER 3, EST SER 4, EST SER 5, EST SER 6 and EST SER 7, will be evaluated through the performance of written tests of individual and group character.

 

- The learning results EST SER 4, EST SER 5, EST SER 6 and EST SER 7, will be evaluated through attendance, participation and realization of the practical activities and activities.
