3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

Block I. Techniques of Social Work

- Introduction and basic concepts related to Social Work Techniques. Basic concepts in the study of social work technology. Technology and techniques in social work. Techniques in Social Work. Classification and types. Basic vocabulary. Qualitative and quantitative approaches.

-Interview in Social Work. Concept. Classifications. Attitudes. Interview style. Social context and meaning. Structure of the interview process. The use of the technique in the process of intervention and research in Social Work.

- Life stories in Social Work

- Oral history. Life story. The question of the method. Individual-collective construction of a near past. The design of the interviews. Phases and components. Contexts The use of the technique in the process of intervention and research in Social Work.

- The home visit in Social Work. Conceptualization. Linkage with other techniques. Types of home visits. The use of the technique in the process of intervention and research in Social Work.

- Group techniques applied to Social Work. Definition. Typology. The meetings in the conduction of groups: Meeting techniques. Techniques for the analysis of meetings. Group dynamics techniques. Techniques to solve conflicts. Contexts. The use of the technique in the process of intervention and research in Social Work.

Block II. The social project

-The social project and the documentation techniques in Social Work

Typology. Internal and external use of documentation techniques in Social Work. Tasks that it requires. Detailed analysis of each of them. The use of the technique in the process of intervention and research in Social Work.

- Final notes on the use of communication techniques, interrelation, analysis and research in the professional practice of Social Work.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

 The student assessment will combine various methods that will be selected from the following:

- Written test: essay exams, objective or semi-objective tests, problem solving, short answer tests, reports and class diaries, portfolios, etc.

- Oral lectures in class: individual or group

- The students will be asked to carry out the design, implementation, analysis and revision of one of the selected techniques of the agenda.

- Techniques based on the active participation of students.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The evaluation is global (from the sum of the different activities such as exam, practices, attendance ...) as well as the practices will be carried out continuously (they will be evaluated weekly and progressively).

The practice mark is kept during a course. In the following course or extraordinary call it is necessary to carry out new practices.

The extraordinary exam will be a global evaluation (from 1 to 10).
