3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

  1. Ten principles of Economics.
  2. The market forces of supply and demand. Elasticity.
  3. Firm: costs and production.
  4. Firms in competitive markets.
  5. The economics of the public sector: efficiency, externalities and no competitive markets.
  6. The data of macroeconomics. Measuring a nation's income.
  7. Production and growth.
  8. Saving, investment, and the financial system.
  9. Unemployment and inflation.
  10. The macroeconomics of open economics.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical and practical knowledge will be discussed in the lectures in spanish language. In addition, several seminars will be held throughout the semester to explain in English some fundamental topics of the course.

Students will have to solve a list of exercises and deliver the proposed activities in english language within the established deadlines. This information will be given to the students in a seminar that will be held the first week of February.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The assessment methodology wil be:

  1. Exam: 70% of the final evaluation. You need to pass it.
  2. Delivery of the solutions of a list of problems and delivery of proposed works: 30% of the final evaluation.
