  2. Concurrent Engineering.
  3. Guides and implementation of DFM.

Topic 3. CIM

  1. Introduction to CIM. Definition, Goal, Components, Models.
  2. CAD and CAM.
  3. Introduction to manufacturing automation.
  4. PLCs, Numerical Control and Industrial Robots.
  5. Modern handling systems.

Topic 4. Planning and control of manufacturing systems

  1. Process Planning and Manufacturing Scheduling.
  2. Quality Control.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical Lectures to show the main concepts of the course.

Descriptions and examples portray the theoretical concepts.

Laboratories or computer room activities provide practical problems to get applied knowledge.

A list of exercises and Presentations complements the learning process.

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Evaluation tools.

S1: Attendance.

S2: Exam.

S3: Course exercises, student works and presentations.

If S2 is greater than or equal to 5, then

Grade = 0.05*S1 + 0.65*S2 + 0.15*S3 + 0.15*S4.

Otherwise:

Grade = S2
