Topic 1.- Design in Mechanical Engineering
1.1.- Introduction to industrial design
1.2.- The design specifications
1.3.- The methodology in the design process
1.4.- Design engineering and manufacturing. Prototyping
Techniques
Topic 2 .- Drawing in the specialty
2.1.General principles for the representation of elements in
the specialty
2.2.- Representation of drawing sheets in the specialty
Topic 3.- Generation of graphic documentation using 2D CAD
techniques
Topic 4.- Three-dimensional drawing: CAD and BIM
environments
It will be used expository classes in large groups for the master classes. It will be generated a debate between the students and teacher in the topics of introduction to design. In small group classes; it will be carried out a set of practices in the laboratory of design related to the subject. These practices will aim, on the one hand, to represent both two-dimensional and three-dimensional creative industrial designs in CAD environments, as well as industrial buildings. Also, a series of exercises will be developed, both individual and group, on complementary aspects of the subject with the possibility of exposition by students of the work developed
Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support
Aspect S1: Active participation in class, debates, group work,
attendance. Competences to be evaluated: CEM1, CEM11, CT2, CT4,
CT6.Results to evaluate: 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66.
Aspect S2: Mastery of the theoretical-practical operational
concepts of the subject. Competences to be assessed: CEM1.CEM11,
CT2.CT4.CT6. Results to be assessed: 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66
Aspect S3: Structure and quality of documentation.
Competences to be assessed: CEM1.CEM11.CT2.CT4.CT6. Results
to be assessed: 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66
Aspect S4: Correct development of the programmed practices:
structure, documentation, planning, standardization.
Competences to be assessed: CEM1.CEM11..CT2.CT4.CT6. Results
to be assessed: 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65,66
In order to pass the course it will be necessary a grade of 5
points in the final theoretical-practical exam (with a weighting of
60% of the final grade) and the positive realization of the
individual and group exercises and the programmed practices on the
CAD system. The work and / or practices will be carried out
according to the criteria established by the teachers, and will
have to be delivered within the deadlines established by them
(results 57,58,59,60,61,62,63,64,65, 66). The weighting of the
practices programmed in the design laboratory and individual and
group assignments will be 30% of the final grade. Attendance to
class and participation will be rated with 10% of the final grade.
The note of the personal work will be kept during the calls of the
academic course.
