4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

During the lectures, the sections of the official program of the subject will be developed. Student participation may take place at any time and doubts will be solved at the time. In the lectures the problems of the subject included in the collections of problems will be solved in a participatory way and discussion of results and resolution methods will be exposed. Practices will be held in a computer room. They will have two parts, an exhibition, where the teacher will explain the tasks to be performed and some personal work of students.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

During theoretical examination, the score of both: theoretical contents and operating of matter must be greater than zero in each of these parts.

The weight of the theoretical contents in the examination is 30% compared to 70% of operational contents (problems)

To pass the course will require to overcome independently both the theoretical exam as practices.

The use of the fundamentals of elasticity and strength of materials without making mistakes concept is especially evaluated. Also, special attention to operational solving ability without errors of statically indeterminate systems and the application of current standards for dimensioning and testing of elements will be provided. The application of the theory of elasticity in solving problems of real solids is also taken into account.
