 Lesson 1.- Introduction to SDI

  •      Introduction
  •       Web and the Information Society.
  •       What is SDI?
  •       SDI Interoperbility
  •       European and Spanish experience in SDI.
  •       Regulation: INSPIRE and National Cartographic System (LISIGE).

Lesson 2: Technological Aspects.

  •        Introduction
  •        Internet (protocols and address).
  •        ISO 19119 Services
  •       Technological Bases (XML, HTML, GML(UML))
  •        Thin Client and server-side programming.

Lesson 3: Data Services.

  •       Map Service (ISO 19128).
  •       Feature Service (WFS).
  •       Coverage Service (WCS).
  •       Other Services (positioning ISO 19116, ISO 19117 representation).

Lesson 4: Description, Discovery and access to Data.

  •      Introduction
  •      Metadata and Metadata Services (ISO 19115-1, 19115-2, ISO 19139).
  •      Catalogues and Catalog Service (OGC-WFS).

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Theoretical sessions

Sessions programming practices and management tools that provide web geoservices

 

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The final grade is made up from the following weighting: a) 60% for the score on a multimodal examination on the theoretical part (60%) and applied (40%); b) 40% for the score on the realization of the practices of the course.

To proceed with the evaluation of the exam is an indispensable condition delivery practices. The practices must be sent to the teacher at least 7 days before the offical exam date.

To pass the course it is necessary that each of the parts (theory, applied part and practices) is approved (score> = 5).

With the multimodal examination (theory and applied part) is to assess skills: CB3R, CE31, CT2, CT4, CT6.

With the completion of practical work is to evaluate the competencies: CB2R, CB3R, CE31, CT1, CT2, CT4.
