3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

This course analyzes the following three topics: i) the consumer's theory and its applications, ii) the theory of the firm: production, the cost of production and the profit maximization problem in the short and the long run and, iii) industrial organization. In this last topic, we study imperfectly competitive markets such as monopoly, oligopoly and monopolistic competition.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

The distribution of the weekly number of hours is the following:

Lecture (theory): 2

Lecture (practice): 1

Homework: 7

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Exam paper with theoretical and practical questions (70% of final assessment).

Practical activities: tests, individual works, attendance (30% of final assessment).

It will be neccessary to achieve a minimum score of 4 points in the exam paper (out of 10 points) to add the mark corresponding to the practical activities for the final assessment.
