Unit 11. Quality criteria in water contamination.

Unit 12.  Sample collection and sample treatment for the determination of inorganic and organic contaminants.

Unit 13. Analysis of inorganic contaminants in water. Elemental speciation.

Unit 14. Analysis of organic contaminants in water.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • For exchange students: teaching support, materials, seminar papers and exams in English. For regular Spanish students the default teaching language will be Spanish. Exchange international students can electively join regular courses in Spanish whenever they wish.

During laboratory classes, exchange students will be provided of appropriate material also in English.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

  • Lectures for the different units
  • Seminars to apply the theory studied in the lectures.
  • Laboratory classes and a field excursion. Students must complete a laboratory notebook with the data obtained in the experiments.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Written exam (70 %) combined with the evaluaction of two activities: lab course (15%) and a presentation selected from a list of topics (15 %). It is mandatory to pass the lab course in order to pass the complete course.
