Theoretical contents

 

1.   General Introduction to Restoration Ecology.

2.   Soil Restoration and Rehabilitation.

4.   Environmental Restoration and Rehabilitation of Mines

6.   Target of ecological restoration. Diversity

7.   Environmental restoration: From ecological theory to practice.

8.   Landscape ecology. Fragmentation.

9.   Agroecology. Restoration in agroecosystem.

 

Practice.

 

1.    K-USLE determination (lab)

2.    Soil parameters: Density and porosity (lab)

3.    Field trips: 1) Study case of soils and biodiversity from olive orchards (two separate trips) 2) Ecological corridor (Aznalcollar-Aznalcazar).

4.    Seminar. Computation of diversity by using EstimateS (computer room). Two sesions.

 

 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Professors will evaluate along the whole course: 1) class assistance and active participation; 2) elaboration of class works (individually and by a team of alumni) and class expositions; 3) know-kow in practice; 5) solving of practical cases (15 % of final scores). Finally, 85 % of the final score will come from a written test. Competences (theory-exam): CE-20, CE-27, CE-36, CE-49, CB2, CB3, CB4, CB5.
