Practical Program

  1. Description and management of the optical microscope. Observation of microorganisms by simple staining. Bacterial mobility.
  2. Differential staining of bacteria. Gram and Ziehl Neelsen stains.
  3. Staining of bacterial structures: capsules and spores.
  4. Antibiotic sensitivity. Susceptibility testing on solid media. Antibiograms. 
  5. Identification and management of basic material in laboratory of Biochemistry. Preparation of reagents and buffers. PH determination.
  6. Glucose determination in serum.
  7. Lipids determination in serum.
  8. Enzimatic activity determination.
  9. Protein concentration determination.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lectures and laboratory practices taught in Spanish.

Tutoring in English. Homeworks and theory exam in English.
