1. Democracy and participation. Concepts and limits. Political participation, citizen involvement and social participation.

2. Levels and types of participation. Participation in public policy. Organs and channels of participation

3. Associations , Social Movements and Volunteering

4. Participatory methodologies. Participatory Action Research and Socio-Cultural animation (PAR and SCA)

5. Concept, origin and nature of the Socio-Cultural animation

6. Intervention in Social Work and the SCA. Social intervention in groups and communities

7. Methods and Techniques for the intervention groups.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  • Practical activities 
  • Essays about scintifics papers 
  • Tutoring (teacher-student joint follow-up, both individualized and in small groups)
  • Workshops
  • Personal work (individual or team, preparation of presentations, personal study)
