PROGRAM OF THEORY

SECTION I. AGRICULTURAL ENTOMOLOGY

UNIT 1. Concept of pest and disease. Ecological and agronomic considerations. Direct and indirect control methods. Integrated control of pests and diseases.

UNIT 2. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect root and lower area of the trunk of the olive tree.

UNIT 3. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect the modification and main branches of the olive tree.

UNIT 4. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect the secondary branches of the olive tree.

UNIT 5. Identification, life cycle, damage and methods of the pests that affect branches terminals and outbreaks of the olive tree.

UNIT 6. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect the leaves of the olive tree.

UNIT 7. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect flowers dl olive wood.

UNIT 8. Identification, life cycle, damage and control methods of the pests that affect the fruits of the olive tree.

SECTION II. PLANT PATHOLOGY

UNIT 9. Diseases caused by fungi (I). Spilocaea oleagina, and Pseudocercospora cladosporioides.

UNIT 10. Diseases caused by fungi (II). Colletotrichum gloeosporioides.

UNIT 11. Diseases caused by fungi (III). Verticillium dahliae (verticilosis).

UNIT 12. Diseases caused by fungi (IV). Camarosporium dalmaticum  and Capnodium elaeophilum.

UNIT 13. Diseases caused by bacteria. Pseudomonas savastanoi (tuberculosis) and Xilella fastidiosa (rapid drought of the olive tree).

UNIT 14. Diseases caused by other biotic agents.
