3. CONTENT DESCRIPTION

1) Fundamentals, approaches, design and protocolization of qualitative research work.

2) Bibliographic and literature search in qualitative research. Review, analysis and critical evaluation of qualitative research work.

3) Qualitative research methodology.

(4) Tools and programmes for the analysis of qualitative information from research-derived texts.

5) The qualitative research report.

 

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Presential activities:

- Participation in presentation classes and discussion of contents.
- Individual and group work-exercises in the classroom
- Classroom discussion groups
Non-presential activities supported by the virtual teaching platform:

- Elaboration of a Qualitative Research Protocol-Project.
- Reading of books, papers and articles with the elaboration of a review, summary and synthesis of documents.
- Exercises and activities proposed through the virtual teaching platform.


Self-study activities by the student:

- Reading, analysis and study of the documents and basic bibliography proposed for each of the contents of the course.

 

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

The Evaluation of Attendance and active participation in classes, seminars, groups and discussion forums will be done by signing an attendance control document that students must complete each day they participate. Additionally, the teaching staff and/or the subject coordinator will provide an additional report that will be applied to the final assessment of this evaluation section.

The exam on theoretical concepts and contents of the subject will be completed by means of the corresponding test-examination exercise which may contain short and multiple choice questions. The grade in the exam must be equal to or higher than 5 points to weight the rest of the activities in the overall evaluation of the subject.

The completion of the Research Protocol, work, resolution of cases or exercises (individual/group) will always have the necessary and sufficient information for its completion. This evaluation section will be completed by means of the corresponding delivery of the papers or exercises proposed, in the corresponding section of the Virtual Teaching Platform of the Master's Degree.

In any case, the grading system will be governed by the provisions of Royal Decree 1125/2003 of 5 September establishing the European credit system and the grading system for official university degrees.
