4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

  1. a) Academic sessions to the great group of students: 26 hours (2,6 ECTS). The teaching materials can be found on the Virtual Campus.
  2. b) Academic sessions to the small group of students: 32 hours (3,2 ECTS).

Laboratory practices. Practical sessions related to the concepts explained in the theory classes will be performed. A detailed protocol will be available on the web platform Ilias, which explains the basis of the practice, and indicate the process that students must follow on their own to get the proposed objective. The results will be analysed and discuss in order to prepare a final report.

Seminars: Problem-based learning (PBL). Clinical cases, including clinical manifestations and laboratory findings, will be analysed and discuss in order to propose a diagnosis.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Theoric curriculum: The concepts adquired and its application to solve cases will be assess by a written exam (60%)

Seminars: Clinical cases solving and oral presentation in group or individually will be evaluated (25%)

Laboratory practices: The attendance, attitude and interest, and the quality of the laboratory report will be considered (15%)
