4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Literature can only be studied from a point of view which simultaneously combines theory and practice. This is the reason why in this subject the study of literature will not only be approached from a theoretical perspective, but from a practical one mainly based on the reading and analysis of the texts included in the syllabus.

At the beginning of the semester, the students will have access to the list of set readings for this module.

Besides the readings scheduled for the different weeks of the semester, the students will have to read five novels on which they will be assessed during the 14th week of the semester.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

To successfully pass this subject, students need to obtain at least 50% of the final grade, 100% [this will include attendance and participation (10%), final exam (60%), practical exercise on the set readings (30%)].
