1 Introduction. Definitions: Industrial Surveying. Techniques. Applications.

2 Instrumentation. Alignments. Close range measurement. Angular measurements. Leveling. Planning.
3 Optical alignment. Basic work techniques.
4 3D observations. Polar method. Specific systems. Industrial photogrammetry. Modeling. software
5 Assembly and adjustment in industrial applications and construction.
6 Building. BIM. Networks. Stake out. Modeling.

Practice.
1. Introductory practice on instrumentation and methodology on Industrial Surveying.
2. 3D adjustment from points obtained with Industrial Surveying methodologies.
3. Hidden point bar.
4. Data processing of point cloud points in industrial applications. Software.
5. Dimensional control of a cylinder from topographic measurements and point clouds.
6. Stake out of industrial elements.
7. Check of pipes. Pipelines design. MDT software.
8. Stake out of building structure.
9. Software for modeling industrial plants.
10. BIM from point clouds.

4. COURSE DESCRIPTION AND TEACHING METHODOLOGY

Lectures will involve:

  • Theoretical lessons by means of master classes with student participation.

  • Practice lessons based on the use of surveying instruments and laser scanner, project based learning example, use of specific software (modeling, laser scanning) and practice exercises.

Students with special educational needs should contact the Student Attention Service (Servicio de Atención y Ayudas al Estudiante) in order to receive the appropriate academic support

5. ASSESSMENT METHODOLOGY

Written exam.

The maximum written test mark is 4 points.
In order to pass this exam it is necessary to get at least 2 points.


Practices.

The evaluation will be continuous. Attendance is compulsory.
The maximum rating for this part is 6 points. The execution, calculation and correct submission will suppose 6 maximum points of the final note. In order to pass the subject, it is necessary to get at least 4 points. The submission of all practices is mandatory.


Final practical examination. Only students who exceptionally and justifiably do not attend the practical classes on a regular basis will be accommodated.


The subject is considered approved when all the above requirements are met.

Practical mark will be kept until Extraordinary II (July).
